A thing about d20 D&D I didn't like, and still don't know why it was done...

What I loves was that levels got so divergent, yet modules still said "for 4-6 characters of 9th level" (or whatever). Can you imagine it with a party of thieves and Clerics?

Still waiting for news about the future of d20 Modern

Different strokes, I don't see why it makes you more invulnerable and make weapons less varied though? You can in Spycraft, personally I think D20M has an odd in-between level that I initially liked but quickly soured to, they're not generic enough to make any character concept, but aren't...

Still waiting for news about the future of d20 Modern

The list is long, though I'm a rampant Spycraft fanboi. Gives the same detail to non-combat that most RPGs give to combat. Classes you want to stick with. Varied weapons Fun, interesting martial arts system NPCs scale to PC character/threat level Wounds & Vitality Catagorised feats - meaning...

Reasons for taking +2 to skills Feats?

I don't mind the feats that much, except that they keep adding them, and they feel weak. At least considering core books they aren't prerequisites for other feats and aren't particularly good. In addition they are balanced in the same way as skills (i.e. not very well), in the standard model...

Worse Rules that game designers have made?

I don't think its massively complicated to have different uses of a skill working of different attributes. Sorta like how World of Darkness works, instead of asking for a Climb check, ask for a Strength + Climb check or a Dex + Climb check in no-gravity etc.

    Non Core in Dungeon?

I second this question. Though admittedly the only Dungeons I bought were the Polyhedron one's with the mini-settings. Adventures just don't interest me that much.

    New Option for Paladins

If I were doing that I'd drop the paladin completely and allow fighters to take the feats.

A power attack feat for ranged weapons...

In Spycraft the max caps are Str bonus +2 for All-Out Attack or Dex mod +2 for Bullseye as a penalty on your attack roll, and you get x2 that on your damage. If you miss you end up Flat-Footed. Str or Dex 13+ is a requirement for each respectively However there are a couple of points to bear in...

A power attack feat for ranged weapons...

Spycraft 2 has such a feat "Bullseye", though as Spycraft defaults to a modern setting with guns available, maybe that's not such a good comparison. Although the spycraft "All-Out Attack" (Power Attack equivilent) and "Bullseye" are a little different to the D&D versions.

    Size issues

Ahh, I'm misremembering to D&D, Modern uses D&D 3 sizes rather than D&D3.5. I'm pretty sure it would have to be more than 1 size catagory though? I'm not sure I'd put a sword in the same size catagory as a 10yr old?

    Size issues

There's only 1 size system in Spycraft 2. IIRC it wouldn't be that easy in Modern, as you'd have to go through each weapon.

18 int, 6 wis, 6 chr Warforged. Roleplaying tips?

Breaking down what things actually mean (i.e. removing flavour text) Int: Skill Points, Knowledge-type skills. Wis: Will Saves, Perception based skills. Cha: Personality based skills. From a mechanical viewpoint, the character will be highly skilled and know what he's talking about, but be both...

    Druid weapons

Meh, Plate Armour tends to be suboptimal anyway - I think in my group we've had 1 character in 3rd edition that's bothered with it. We tend to have a lot of situations where Dexterity is important, so maybe my perspective's a bit skewed. And I'm not saying give the heavy armour proficiency for...

Live near any fantasy-sounding places? List 'em here!

Hmmm, not much around here, though we do have... Thunder Bridge Great Heck & Little Heck always sound somewhat Pratchett-y don't know if that counts. They're probably the best, but most of the places nearby hail from at least medieval, but not particularly fantasy like (at least to me).

    Druid weapons

Druidic weapons tend to make very little sense to me, I remove restrictions and give them a proficiency list based on their specific order for most games. I mean why would a Dwarven Earth Druid not be able to use armour forged from the fruits of the Earth.

    Spy-genre Poll

True but in a matter of degrees, everything's supposed to be compatable in True20 (IIRC), so you can drop a feat into it with few worries, or even for the sake of quick conversion an entire NPC (yeah it won't be built the same, but I gave up worrying about that too much a while back). Spycraft...

    Star Wars Miniatures Starships-thoughts?

I actually quite like it, admitedly I'm not really all that into Star Wars or Prepaint figures, but the Prepainting actually works for starships as they are generally fairly simple (aside from dashes of colour they're basically grey and inked darker grey). It plays fast, doesn't take a whole...

    Erik Mona's Lo-Fi Experience System

Can we have less of this, "XP is easy with a computer", most of us know this already but not everyone actually has a computer in their gaming room (I usually don't) and it's usually nice to level up at the end of a session rather than the beginning. For Crafting items, I know a lot of people...

    White-skinned Drow

I just tend not to use Drow and make elves more morally ambigious. Elves view themselves as caretakers who may intervene in the affairs of others, to shape races to their designs. Sometimes assisting them with problems and sometimes to knock them off their own pedestal. Also as a note, alignment...

    Spy-genre Poll

The decision's been made folks. No point arguing about it now. While I don't have True20, from what I know if it, it'll be an easy job to convert stuff, wasn't that part of it's strengths? Spycraft does stray from standard d20 in quite a few ways, and while anything is convertable, it'll take...
