Fantasy Sex Roleplaying Game Releases October 2003

I'll tell you when i actually see what it is? Right now all we know is that it is about sex and has some sexy pictures. I don't think ill _use_ much of it, but i'll probably buy it since i am a WOTC stooge and buy everything they make for d&d and think, for now, that VP, inc. is a sub of...

Fantasy Sex Roleplaying Game Releases October 2003

Here's a thought... I do see that the project is publishing under the OGL, but could the Valar Project be a sub of Hasbro/WOTC? I mean, i would have assumed that AV has a non-compete with WOTC while working there (unless he left and I missed that fact in my non-obsesive D&D news gathering time).

[OT] I got into law school!

I too graduated law school in 2000 (from Indiana University - Bloomington) and am in Chicago. My advice to (prospective) law students is this: Do not listen to anyone who gives you advice! By that I mean that Law school differs greatly for different people and do not worry about what your...

Should there be a "Vile/Mature" line of products?

    A) Judging by the poll in the other thread; yes. B) Maybe. Depends on whether it fits a game in which I am playing or inspires me/my group to start a new one. I would love the option. C) Yes D) Even More Yes; Give me liberty or give me death, yadd yadda E) Sure, especially if there were...

Should there be a "Vile/Mature" line of products?

Yes and no I have no problem with keeping the "mature" (i prefer this term to 'vile') rulebooks seperate from the "PG" books. As for Dragon, or any other anthology of material; restricting it to 'core' or 'pg' seems unfair. I think that Dragon should cover all or any part of the D&D world...

[FR] Which region would you most like to see a suppliment book for?

Im the opposite... I voted Cormyr becasue I think that there are general areas (Northwest/Central) that should be very well defined and detailed for DMs that want a rich backdrop and there should be other "loose" areas (South/Southeast) that are not as well defined [granted, I am not a long...

Please stop paying full price for rulebooks.

Please stop paying full price for rulebooks.

As much as I hate to foray into the morass that is this thread… I feel compelled to comment. Economics is more than just $s and ¢s… and the decision on from where to buy books and accessories needs to be more than a battle of who has the lowest price. Just as we all don't eat raman noodles or...

    New respect for crossbows

Exactly. And you see nothing incorporating it either. For a right to be an individual right rather than a ‘collective’ right, one of the people (i.e. states) it must be incorporated through the 14th amd. I actually don't have the case on me; only this months ABA journal which discuses it… The...

    New respect for crossbows

To continue the highjack… … technically, the US 2nd amendment right to bear arms is a right of the _states_ to keep militia and not allow the Federal government to restrict states from protecting themselves from Federal action. See United States v. Miller, 207 U.S. 174 (1939). This means that...

    [OT] Redefining "Geek"

For what it’s worth, I think there are some clear regional differences here. My peeps use the following differences: Nerd – This is a person of above average intelligence whose knowledge, skill and intellect make them expert at a variety of esoteric or difficult subjects, but in turn the...

    WOTC article in Business Journal

Which is why their "proposal was fair and appropriate" and in turn rejected. The explosion of a fad product, and its whimpering aftermath give the creators a skewed sense of the value of their product. I am glad WOTC didn't throw good money after bad. As a recovering M:TG addict, its a lesson...

    X

I am sorry to say, but I think there is a continuum of geekiness that allows LARPers and Table Toppers to out geek each other. I know War gamers, Larpers, and Pen & Pencil players who are so geeky that they define the word. I know others who could pass in normal society with barely a disguise...

[FR] cosmology and after-life for an elf

From what little I know, the End answer would be Arvandor. According to the FRCS, when 'mortals' die, the soul goes to the Fugue plane to await the call of their patron deity who swoops in (via agency) and escorts them to the patron's home plane. I dont know if this is upposed to be true for...

Literacy in a medieval fantasy world?

Re: Re: Re: Literacy in a medieval fantasy world? That was mostly my point. Granted, the only published D&D world with which I have any familiarity is FR, whose history has been magical/medieval for 5000 years. Where as we notice literacy tracking to technological advancement (printing...
