    Disappointed in 4e

And this is one of my main beefs with 4e also. In previous editions you got all of the iconic races and monsters in the 3 core rulebooks. To play a decent, fully-fledged D&D game you only needed these 3 books. But now? If I want more of the iconic monsters and classes I'll have to purchases...

5 rpgs I would take to a deserted island.

:) Yeah, I agree with you. I love Top X lists, but at the same time they frustrate me when you only have X amount of spaces. But, at the same time, I guess that's the beauty and fun of them ;) Ahhhh, decisions!

5 rpgs I would take to a deserted island.

 I know what you mean about GURPS. For some reason I've always wanted to enjoy it. I mean, the sourcebooks are great, you can use them for most rpgs, the system looks fine, much potential, but when we ran a game using the system it somehow failed to ignite any excitement. Not sure why to...

My favourite published campaign setting would be...

Yeah, I've got to admit that the more I read the Pathfinder campaign setting the more interesting it is becoming. On the surface it looked pretty standard, but when you get into it, woah, there's plenty of twists, ideas, in depth back story, etc. It's certainly gained my attention these past 2...

My favourite published campaign setting would be...

"...I've played in quite a few and I've enjnoyed..." Enjnoyed!? What is that? Enjoyed would have been so much better ;) Argh! Just proved my point about proof-reading - again! haha! That's it! Not enough sleep for me, must go to bed :)

My favourite published campaign setting would be...

"...not that easy to choose. I mean, I've played in quite a few and they've and I've enjoyed many of them. Some notables (for me - and for different reasons) would be:" I should proof-read my posts before I send them, haha. It should have read: "...I've played in quite a few and I've...

My favourite published campaign setting would be...

...not that easy to choose. I mean, I've played in quite a few and they've and I've enjoyed many of them. Some notables (for me - and for different reasons) would be: * Greyhawk * Birthright * Seattle (for Shadowrun) * Planescape * Earth (for Conspiracy X) * Earth (for Ars Magica) Having to...

October '08: What Are You Reading?

Because Part V of A Song of Ice and Fire is supposedly coming out in April 2009 I'm re-reading the series - up to the 3rd book. That's all I've been reading the last few weeks. Before that I read Infoquake.

Where 3E and 4E players stand in the great 3E disputes

    1. Psionics: Good or Bad? (I have no problem with psionics. In our campaigns we treat it as still a bit of a mystery for the local populace and that angle always works well. As far as the mechanics go, they work just fine for us.) 2. Tome of Battle: The antichrist or best thing that ever...

5 rpgs I would take to a deserted island.

Yeah, good point. Most people have listed just a single book, although I realised I only wrote Pathfinder as my #1. Revised list: 1) Pathfinder core rulebook 2) Shadowrun core rulebook 3rd edition 3) Dark Conspiracy core rulebook 4) Earthdawn core rulebook 2nd edition 5) Mmm...have to change...

5 rpgs I would take to a deserted island.

Okay, so you're going to be stranded on a deserted island for the rest of your life. What 5 tabletop rpgs would you take with you? Me? These 5: 1) Pathfinder 2) Shadowrun 3rd edition 3) Dark Conspiracy 4) Alternity 5) Earthdawn

Irreconcilable differences(Forked Thread: When did I stop being WotC's...)

I tend to agree. I've been there with the release of each edition, from 1st to 4th, and although there was criticism when 3e came out, it was of a different sort. Most of it was aimed at the artwork and style; sure there were those who favoured 2e (fair enough), but eventually many of those...
