If a DM is not a fan of creativity then his players can't help it I guess. I OTOH am open-minded and promote creative use of abilities.

I was under the impression that Pathfinder heavily nerfed every polymorph-like spell and ability. Last time I looked at the spells they where good, but hardly abusable or overpowered. But maybe there was some errata that I don't know about. and it would be just like Paizo to break again one...

It's magic. It doesn't have to be logical or make sense. For me it works exactly like it says in the spell description - if there's plants, the spell entangles everything in a 40 ft. radius. Nothing more, but also nothing less. All I need is to throw it at least 40 ft. from the enemy. not much...

10 ft., up to 50 ft. with penalties to accuracy. Yes, it's a standard action, IIRC. The plant doesn't care. It doesn't really hurt it. Plants are tough, so something like that is hardly abuse. Of course the Druid would have to move the plant to another pot after everything was over.

For me all that's needed is a little vegetation for the spell to work fully. Using a potted plant is very smart. But of course the Druid has to care for the plant, otherwise he will lose powers for abusing nature.

Hitting a square is 5 AC, IIRC.

The Druid is in an area where there's no natural vegetation. He throws a pot with plant(s) in it under the enemy feet and casts Entangle. How would you rule it?
