WotC Replies: Statements by WotC employees regarding Dragon/Dungeon going online

There certainly is no evidence for it. (All the people I know, who bought at least some Dragons and Dungeons in the past also at least semi-regulary bought books, but that really doesn't prove anything.) But to me at least it is simply logic that people who show far above attachment to the game...

WotC Replies: Statements by WotC employees regarding Dragon/Dungeon going online

Mistwell! You keep mentioning that since only about 1% of D&D players bought Dungeon & Dragon, these magazines had no real following in the market, and only a small percentage of D&D players get damaged because of their cancelation. Some thoughts: 1.) As far as I know the source of the 5...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

I subscribed a year and a half ago to both magazines, and I had never any problems getting them. Some where a little late, but than it was a general problem affecting all subscribers. I live in Hungary.

Minority Opinion: Why is the loss of the magazines just fine?

You're right that there is nothing anyone can do about this particular decision, but our reactions now can probably influence how WotC would act in the future if a similar situation arises.

Was Dragon (or any RPG mag) your first exposure to gaming?

Dragon didn't bring me into the hobby (I bought the first magazin something like 10 years after my first RPG book), but Dragon and Dungeon helped me stay in it. I stopped active gaming 2 years ago (not much time, constant troubles with fixing sessions, DMing being less and less fun for me...

    A Replacement for DRAGON?

A big selling point for Dragon and Dungeon was for me always that they had "real" D&D content. I liked to read about warlocks and scouts, about Greyhawk and the Realms, I liked to see mind flayers and beholders in the adventurres. This is gone now. I'm pretty confident that selling gaming...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

I guess this is true, but has not much to do with the issue at hand. For all we know, there were no problems with the profibility of Dungeon and Dragon for Paizo. There is nothing that would suggest that Paizo wouldn't have continued on producing both magazines if they have had the chance. I'm...

Would you pay for so-called Online "Dungeon/Dragon" content from WotC?

I don't care for online content. It could be very well that Wizards's offering will be of the same quality as what Paizo had in Dragon/Dungeon, it could even be better, why not? But I have absolutely no interest in reading it online. I want my gaming stuff in print, and printing it out on my...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

I go to bed now. I hope when I'll wake up in the morning it turns out that all this has been just a really terrible nightmare.

    OotS #441

I just realized that today's OotS featured a dead Dragon. How appropriate on this sad day. :(

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

Something else: I'm usually not the person who does a lot of complaining and so, and I understand that things have to move forward and that the world is everchanging, but this really-really doesn't send a good signal to me about what 4th Edition will be all about. First the (IMO) terrible new...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo no longer publishing Dungeon and Dragon

I can't even begin to express how sad I'm about this. I'm a realtive newcomer to Dragon and Dungeon, I started to buy Dragon with issue 299, and Dungeon when they had to issue with the Dungeon content. God, was it terriblly difficult to get my hands on the magazines here because of the sorry...

    OotS #441

I think this strip was simply awsome. Much better than the Belkar one IMO. Make that a zombie silver dragon.

    OotS #440

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0155.html It's in the second panel. The raven feels it's demeaning to speak in Common. (I didn't remember this myself, it was pointed out on the OotS boards.)

    Dungeon 146

You are also paying app. twice as much for them. :)

What books would you like to see WOTC do

Another vote for a book about feys. I think I'd also buy a "Races of Dragon" type book about orcs and/or goblinoids.

I'm pretty sure Haley is officialy the second-in-command. It's in their contract or something.

    Oots 423

Since Redcloak summoned the elementals, not called them, their bodies will vanish once the spell runs out, so this doesn't really matter.

    Order of the Stick #421

I knew there must have been a joke behind that. Good catch. This little things are what make OotS really special.
