    D&D 5E Pre-Order DLC comes to D&D with D&D Beyond and Xanathar's Guide to Everything pre-order

Politics based on assumptions based on stereotypes about where one lives? In an article about feats for a game? And Europeans are more used to the socialist system? The socialist system that then has something to do with a buyer getting free content if he/she preorders a product?

Pre-Order DLC comes to D&D with Xanathar's Guide to Everything

I am not 100% sure but I think that if you buy Curse of Strahd from Roll20 they give you 2d battlemaps of the castle designed for Roll20. I own Cos from FG and also the physical book and I don't have these maps. Isn't this the same thing? The various companies that are selling official dnd...

D&D Reader App Coming This Fall? [UPDATED]

+ copy - paste the text in vtt / programs, apps etc + extract images, maps and handouts (not always, some pdfs are locked) A book or an app on your phone may be able to do some things better than pdf (reading is not that fun if you have to zoom in - out every 5 seconds on your mobile device, at...

D&D Reader App Coming This Fall? [UPDATED]

I thought of that too, but it's not the case. Everybody now has the same rules and the same content. The DM chooses the vtt / service that fits his needs and the players follow. I have bought the Starter Set from Roll20 so we played using my subscription in Roll20 and I am currently using...

D&D Reader App Coming This Fall? [UPDATED]

    You are right, there are more than 5. 1. Dungeonscape / Trapdoor (defunct) 2. Fantasy Grounds / Smiteworks 3. Roll 20 / Roll20 (?) 4. D&D Beyond / Curse 5. Dragon +, D&D reader (?) app / Dialect 6. DM's Guild, drivethrough / OneBookShelf 7. D20Pro / Mesa Mundi (why everyone forgets about...

D&D Reader App Coming This Fall? [UPDATED]

I use pdfs everyday, I am a graphic designer. I see the versatility and potential that they have. I understand why someone likes them it just so happens that at this specific moment I don't need them for 5e. However I do use pdfs to extract content out of older edition books since I cannot find...

D&D Reader App Coming This Fall? [UPDATED]

No, it's not. People from all over the world convert old books in digital formats just to address that. Digital is eternal. Use a cloud service or the equivalent of "time machine", an app for macs. I have never lost a document the last ten years. I have lost or destroyed physical books in these...

Starfinder Starfinder's Sutter Leaves Paizo; Butler Joins (In A Different Role)

Well, these non-players tend to back the majority of kickstarter projects which are 5e compatible. Some of them buy the content from FG (all 5e products are "best-sellers") or roll20 (look at the "most-popular" modules). Sometimes they pre-order massively from amazon and some of them buy the...

Fun And The Flow In Games

Recently I heard an episode of System Mastery podcast where they compared an RPG where it was difficult to hit an opponent, with soccer, where the two teams play for 90 minutes and they might not even score once. I am a huge soccer fan. That made me think of how differently people with different...

Green Ronin To Publish The Expanse RPG

Thank you for your response. My problem was that I once designed an encounter where it was (almost) impossible for my players to hit the monsters and another one it was the contrary - the monsters could not hit the players. I used monsters from one book only (it was level 1-5). When the second...

Green Ronin To Publish The Expanse RPG

I had two problems using the AGE system when I was playing Dragon Age. 1. The Dragon Die was enabling the extra powers randomly which was kind of anti-climactic and most importantly 2. there was no easy or simple way to design a combat encounter. I had to manually check each monster against...

D&D Beyond Launches -- Electronic Tools For D&D Are Here!

Demo game? Has anyone done a video of an actual game session or even a tutorial for running adventures using DDB? I am really curious to see how it feels and how you "share" things with your players. (A search in youtube turned no results). Can you share a map on their screen? Are there tokens...

D&D Beyond Launches -- Electronic Tools For D&D Are Here!

There is, I don't remember the name now, but I used something about a year ago (and it was running natively on mac). It was really slow and I remember that my computer was struggling afterwards, so I had to restart after every use. But that doesn't mean anything, there might be a better solution...

D&D Beyond Launches -- Electronic Tools For D&D Are Here!

I wish that there was the same subscription model for DDI back in the day. I payed hundreds of dollars over the years for content that I cant access anymore. My only concern is that the offline content is going to be available through a mobile app. See, if it was computer software I could create...

#RPGaDAY Day 12: Which RPG has the most inspiring interior art?

I love the One Ring, not only for it's illustrations but for the overall feeling - its' books seam like artifacts but in the same time they are so easy to read, a difficult combination. I also like the 5e books (seams strange that no one mentioned them) but only the interior pages - for some...

Fantasy Grounds Drops Prices For Electronic D&D Books

I do the same thing. I connect my laptop with the TV to show my players the maps and handouts. I don't have to search for maps, tiles and tokens before the session, all the stats for the monsters are two clicks away and I use fog of war or similar techniques to slowly reveal the map. My players...

Fantasy Grounds Drops Prices For Electronic D&D Books

You cannot use any type of handheld device to access FG, even if you own a mac you have to use a third-party program since it's a windows app. FG does not have a character creator (although you can use "library items" to create one instead of having to write and calculate everything from...

D&D's Lead Slightly Increases On Roll20 & World of Darkness On The Rise

Well, the number of PF games went from 9800 to 9400 so there are about 400 less games. On the other hand, as friend Jester explained, there are about 1000 more players interested in playing this game. What I understand from these numbers is that Pathfinder in the last months has more fans but...

D&D's Lead Slightly Increases On Roll20 & World of Darkness On The Rise

Is is my idea or everything is falling except 5e? I look at the % of games played. However the number of players and games played is rising, which is a good sign. P.S. 3790 players played in 21 games of Munchkin at some point... That's 180+ players per game? What exactly is considered a "game"?
