Pathfinder 1E Our 1st Pathfinder campaign, and we could use some help.

Alchemists and Wizards could learn their magic at the same Arcane University. They could know each other the same way many biology and chemistry majors meet at labs. They could have a bunch of classes that overlap. The Bard may only need a few classes, and met them for a brief time. The Rogue...

Do druids and rangers make the wilderness too freindly?

You speak the truth. Problems happen, the world is out to get adventurers, and here be monsters- not just animals.

Pathfinder 1E Our 1st Pathfinder campaign, and we could use some help.

Well, that changes basically everything. Do you have character's yet? What is the party composition? As for the game, I think Jester Canuck is on the right path. I think you should combine these. Say it is the normal party of Fighter, Rogue, Cleric, Wizard for the game. Fighter and Wizard...

    Strongest racial animosity in D&D?

Drow vs Elves is a good one. The drow massacre and torture the elves they catch during raids- for fun. Seems bad. Elves had drow, but not like the drow had the elves. Aboleths vs land dwellers? In a campaign- whatever the DM says is the strongest racial hatred.

Pathfinder 1E Our 1st Pathfinder campaign, and we could use some help.

The group should discuss the setting together. Make a world together, or at least make elements together. If you want to limit races to push certain features of the world. As for the actual gameplay, I recommend the GM stick to E6 or maybe E8 for Pathfinder. E6 works very well for getting...

Do druids and rangers make the wilderness too freindly?

This is what we need. Well, not exactly- but close. I think games like Mouseguard (where you can fail, get lost, get a penalty, then make it to town which makes the rest of mission harder), Burning Wheel, and other non-d20 games model this better. In d20 if a GM plays hard with the weather (and...

    d20 Modern: The Avengers Challenge!

So we agree, the challenge doesn't work. I like the generalist vs specialist. I definitely see Black Widow as a generalist, maybe a specialist for intrigue style adventures. Hawkeye, I'm less sure. But he isn't as focused on heroics as the other Avengers either, so he probably could be built...

    d20 Modern: The Avengers Challenge!

I agree. I also think the 25 point buy for PCs is jank. To have a one stat at 17 and hurts the characters points so much that you are left with 8s and maybe one salvageable stat. I don't think Tony Stark would be an 12th level Artificer, but I see the argument. Especially considering I messed...

What do you guys think Tony Stark's (Iron Man) Intelligence Score would be?

This is how you get Big Bang Theory "smart". I'm standing by my former argument that the writers cannot properly write a character who far exceed their mental capacity.

Do druids and rangers make the wilderness too freindly?

I think rangers and druids can definitely make wilderness adventures easier. But that is their job. If they make the wilderness too easy, then rogues make dungeon adventures too easy, and bards make urban adventures too easy. In many wilderness encounters, they are often poorly set up by the GM...

    D&D 3E/3.5 3.5- Need help making a Vampire lord

You can drag out the encounter too. The Vampire Lord attacks, retreats, changes form, and flees. Then Vampire Spawn attack. When the party enters the forest near the Vampire's Lair- wolves harass the party. None of the fights has been difficult, just burning some HP and spells. Just using up...

What do you guys think Tony Stark's (Iron Man) Intelligence Score would be?

Mutants and Masterminds 2E (I'm not familiar with the other editions) can simulate Avengers. There are power level limitations at creation, which can allow for Avengers like power level. If the players are willing to work together and accept different power levels you can even have the...

What do you guys think Tony Stark's (Iron Man) Intelligence Score would be?

The smart vs wise has been discussed. What about the limitations of the authors? If I wrote an Iron Man story, I would need to do a ton of research to make the technobabble correct. But If I was under a deadline, it would extremely difficult to do. And I had a limited space for words, it would...

What do you guys think Tony Stark's (Iron Man) Intelligence Score would be?

I agree with this. In a D20 game, I think Han would be around level 8. If I make a level 10 character following most of his build- I better be able to do things he can't! As for Drizzt- awesome swordsman-yes. But he has met several characters who can match blades with him (notably Artemis...

    Favorite Mage build

Do you have to be a wizard? From the games I have played, sorcerer's are much better at spamming attacks like Ray of Enfeeblement. They get more spells per day, and if you want to spam spells, you don't need that many. You can always use scrolls as a backup for odd situations (even if you need...

What do you guys think Tony Stark's (Iron Man) Intelligence Score would be?

I think this is problem with people being too focused on "high level means everything" and it's cousin "big numbers mean everything" that plague many right ups. Settings with multiple authors have even have more problems. Stark built a time machine with his and Doom's suits. But in other...

What do you guys think Tony Stark's (Iron Man) Intelligence Score would be?

I recommend this post on The Alexandrian. It is about how the low levels model real life, and how many characters aren't as high leveled was we think (it uses LotR characters) but based on that I wouldn't put Drizzt above something like 10th level. I used it as my baseline for Stark having a 22...

What do you guys think Tony Stark's (Iron Man) Intelligence Score would be?

Oh. Yeah, I misunderstood. I still think time machine is harder, but the gap is a lot smaller.

What do you guys think Tony Stark's (Iron Man) Intelligence Score would be?

I think you are being too generous to our world. Making a time machine with medieval armor MUST be more difficult than fixing a telemetry problem for a probe with a couple tablets. I mean, we have telemetry (your example is still a huge problem) but we don't have time machines.

What do you guys think Tony Stark's (Iron Man) Intelligence Score would be?

I'll jump in. Tony Stark is a genius. No. That isn't good enough, he's the type of genius where a "normal" genius like Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, or Stephen Hawking would only understand the gist of what he is saying. In the film it mentions him having graduated from MIT summa cum...
