    invisibility vs. dispel magic

So, wait, if I played a character who considered everyone against him merely to be misguided allies who needed a little help to see the light (perhaps he thinks they are confused through nonmagical means and need assistance through a nonmagical dispel magic), would only targeted spells break...

    Most overrated "broken" things?

In his defense, he never was arguing that the spiked chain is broken:
  3. The Blow Leprechaun

    Can you disbelieve Displacement?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it has to say something like Saving Throw: Will Disbelief to be disbelieved.
  4. The Blow Leprechaun

Natural attacks and Class attacks confusion

There's much to be said for beating up commoners to make you feel good about yourself.
  5. The Blow Leprechaun

    The Price of Propaganda

I think it's irrelevant in terms of "getting the word out." Townsfolk who hear the story will recognize your name and your deeds, whether they liked the bard's performance or not. I'm assuming a bell curve in terms of bard performances, which means for every bad performance they hear, there will...

    Most overrated "broken" things?

This is why I didn't want to go down this road. You've been shown time and again why it's not absurd at all within the confines of the game, and yet you still insist that it is. The world of D&D is not like our world, the people in it are superior to us. Just because you, or I, or anyone in...
  7. The Blow Leprechaun

Natural attacks and Class attacks confusion

Ah, you're right, I was hasty. I only looked up the weapon entry for unarmed strike and the feat description for IUS.
  8. The Blow Leprechaun

    Most overrated "broken" things?

It is not magical in nature.
  9. The Blow Leprechaun

Natural attacks and Class attacks confusion

Only monks can explicitly make unarmed strikes with anything other than fists, I think. I think this is also why Monk gain a special ability called Unarmed Strike that encompasses IUS, not IUS. Nowhere does unarmed strike indicate you can kick with it.
  10. The Blow Leprechaun

    The Price of Propaganda

I think the difference between my answer and the others so far is that I think this is a great idea and I wouldn't want to put much of a barrier up against the player doing this. It isn't a craft check because (by definition) craft creates something physical. There shouldn't be any skill...
  11. The Blow Leprechaun

    The Price of Propaganda

A trained hireling costs 3 silver pieces a day. A messenger 2 copper pieces per mile traveled. I'd probably use 3sp a day + 2cp/mile for traveling expenses.
  12. The Blow Leprechaun

    Most overrated "broken" things?

Now you're putting an interpretive limitation on what a combatant could or could not do, when we're clearly discussing a game that allows your characters to become superhuman. A level 20 human monk has a base land speed of 90' per round, which means they can walk 9 miles an hour and hustle 18...
  13. The Blow Leprechaun

    Most overrated "broken" things?

I'm never going to be able to play a warlock after all this talk about how they make people feel a hostile tingling. I'll feel like every town I enter, I'll have to go door to door and warn everyone about myself.
  14. The Blow Leprechaun

    Most overrated "broken" things?

I really didn't want to go down this path because there was an entire thread about the spiked chain recently, so I'm just going to say one thing regarding the realism of the spiked chain: Personally, I find the weapon extremely believable. There are lots of real world, historical examples of...
  15. The Blow Leprechaun

    Most overrated "broken" things?

I'm with you. Arguments against the spiked chain usually turn out to be "I just don't like it, it doesn't make sense."
  16. The Blow Leprechaun

    Skill points and leveling up

There are rules, any previous class skill is still considered a class skill in terms of maximum ranks, but only current class skills get 1:1 ratio on skill points to ranks.
  17. The Blow Leprechaun

Natural attacks and Class attacks confusion

Who said anything about fun? Fear is the motivation!
  18. The Blow Leprechaun

Natural attacks and Class attacks confusion

Personally, I surrender an argument any time Hypersmurf is opposed to me because I'm pretty sure that means I'm wrong. ;)

    Sentient Undead PC Race

Have you looked at what the zombie template does to you, though? It's pretty brutal. For starters, you only get a move or a standard action. That sucks. You also don't heal normally and can't be resurrected (if you hit 0 hp, you're gone). I agree, being undead has a ton of perks to go along...
