    Scent and Shapechange

I think the Scent ability implies a little bit more keen sense of smell than the average person has at their disposal ;) That said, yeah, there's no need for this to be a complicated thing. Barring someone finding an arcane rule out of nowhere (I'm looking at you, Hypersmurf!), I'd say go with...

    Sentient Undead PC Race

If it's a homebrew campaign, just give zombies an intelligence score and deem them sentient. I'm pretty sure Libris Mortis suggests this, though I don't have the book at work (and if I did, I might not have work!).

    Scent and Shapechange

The Bad Moon Waning adventure module states that normally, werewolves smell the same in all forms. Not sure how much water that holds, but it's an officially published adventure that takes a position. I'd probably rule that if the shift is to an alternate form (like a werewolf), it retains...

    Darkvision and mirrors?

    Because she's beardless.

You can run. But you cannot hide! About DMing, ideas?...Münster guys: STAY OUT!!!

I believe the Draconomicon has equipment tailored for dragons. Maybe it wasn't the Draconomicon. If I remember, I can look into it when I get home.

    Darkvision and mirrors?

Invisibility is much trickier than darkvision, imho... darkvision is a fairly static ability that only changes in terms of its range. Invisibility on the other hand can vary widely. A spell like Invisibility Sphere produces weird effects, such as those inside the sphere able to see each other...

    Darkvision and mirrors?

If you decide that light passes through something that is invisible (a fair assumption), then I agree you would see nothing in an invisible mirror. I don't know exactly how invisibility works (much like darkvision), but if that's how it does, then no to all your questions.
  8. The Blow Leprechaun

    Darkvision and mirrors?

No. Just because you can see invisible doesn't mean the mirror reflects your target. You can see the mirror and what's reflected in it, there's no logic to it getting to use your magic abilities. Something is either reflected in the mirror or not. If you can see the mirror, you can see it, or...

    Can a whip flank?

You can get the +2 from flanking if your ally on the other side is in a flanking position and threatens, but you don't provide one for anyone else:

    Charging and Balancing

Yeah, this is what I was trying to say... I don't think I'm communicating well today!
  12. The Blow Leprechaun

    Darkvision and mirrors?

No, you can only see what you would normally see reflected in a mirror. Does holding up a normal mirror in daylight allow you to see an unlimited distance? Things that are too far away aren't going to show up at all, and even things that do show up may be completely unrecognizable. Especially...

    Darkvision and mirrors?

Taking for granted that one can see a reflection in a mirror if you possess darkvision, I don't agree with the limitation of range. I think only the mirror would have to be in range of your darkvision. Your eyes are not bouncing off the mirror and then continuing on to see something around the...

    more spells

There's the Spell Knowledge feat, but it's an epic feat. But if the player was really interested in it, I'd consider adapting the Expanded Knowledge psionic feat to an equivalent spell feat for Sorcerers. Must be able to cast 3rd level arcane spells and you can choose a spell that's at most one...

    Brew Potion question

Err yeah... I think the problem is the conflation of range and target... and I think I contributed to it!

    Charging and Balancing

I still think you're applying Balance to something it doesn't apply to. You cannot charge across difficult terrain - i.e. you move slowly across that terrain normally (no balance check). Accelerated movement of the Balance skill is used to move quickly across surfaces that require a balance...

    Brew Potion question

I didn't check every single one but I checked a dozen or so, and I didn't see a standard potion listed in the SRD with just range: personal. They all had creature touched or more.

    Darkvision and mirrors?

Yeah, even with the wavelengths arguments I think any mirror that could be useful in this situation would have to be specially made to work with darkvision. Since cold iron costs double, a cold iron mirror would cost 20gp, which seems really low to me if I was going to HR this sort of thing...
  19. The Blow Leprechaun

    Darkvision and mirrors?

I'd be comfortable with it either way, depending on how darkvision works. It seems from the way darkvision is described in the rules that it works sui generis, but if you decide that darkvision operates by perceiving photons of a normally nonvisible wavelength then you can argue that you would...
  20. The Blow Leprechaun

    Charging and Balancing

I don't think Balance here is referring to speed reducing terrain at all. It talks about failure meaning you fall - not move slowly. There's nothing here that indicates Balance can be used to alleviate, for example, dense underbrush.
