Would you use the same setting for your next campaign?

Don't both answers say the same thing???????

    Creative Use of Low-level Magic.

Nothing like an unseen servant closing a door during melee to split the enemy. Also lots of fun to convince opponents that things are haunted. One time back in 2nd ed the party came upon a random encounter on the road. The situation was that a minor illusionist was ambushing travelers by...

Memorable city fight encounter? ran it last night!

You could always do something where the PC with the sword is put in a VERY precarious position... one which they're VERY likely to fall... and need both hands to recover. or maybe they manage to do the daring recovery... just in time to be hit by a ring of the ram and fall off the first level...

    Take the HackMaster Challenge

Me too... I'll have to see if I can slip out of work early to see if it is in the mailbox... :) Otherwise, I'll have to hold my breath until Monday (no mail delivery in Canada on weekends... stupid Canada Post! :P)

How do you cope with only 4 characters in a party?

I've run games with 1 person and others with 9... I find ~4 best just because you cover the basics without slowing things down too much. When I've had small groups though I've done npcs or had each player have 2 characters... but sometimes it's nice to just have a smaller group that doesn't...

Help: Game tonight and no ideas!

The one that I enjoyed from Fiery Dragon was N'mourian's Vault (ok.. spelled wrong but sounds like it). It was a great 1st level adventure and also had a really plausable background which I loved... openned a lot of doors for later.

    Buzz on Aces and Eights?

I think it does add something... I mean... you choose where you aim... if you KNOW you're a bad shot you could aim off target and hope you "miss" the right way... :) Seriously though, I like the idea... makes it seem more "interesting'.

    Buzz on Aces and Eights?

Anyone out there as jazzed as I am about the new Aces & Eights game coming out? I'm not normally big on Western RPGs but this one really does sound pretty awesome!!!! Just curious if many out there on EN World are looking to pick it up?

Fish Stories: What's the best bluff you've ever gotten away with?

The best one we had was in a game when 3 of us were playing gnomes... a druid, a rogue, and an illusionist. We were in Myth Drannor and came across someone who had no memory of themselves and their perception of the world was from MANY years ago before the fall of the city when elves were at...

Are there any fans of Star Frontiers on ENWorld?

Used to love it... still have my books kicking around in the basement... :)

    Wildshaping Druid

True, I'd acutally meant the armour bonuses but didn't even think of any other properties. I'd say the amulet works fine if worn in animal form, but not during the transformation... but that's in my game. It does work for natural attacks though and if made in "collar" form is quite handy for...

    Wildshaping Druid

Armour with the Wild attribute...allows you to keep the bonuses (and maybe ac value but I can't remember for sure) while in wildshape. Hmmm... if they have a particular form they use a lot (like a wolf or horse) there could be some item they throw on the ground that the new form can use once...

Which prestige classes do you use?

Personally I find it usually better to stick to the base classes from the PHB, but I've considered come. In my current game, a player is using the Master Specialist PrC from Complete Mage. Personally I like the concept of PrCs, but figure they're best used to further a concept that you can't...

    Roleplaying your dump-stat

In my games I really push to play the character per the stats... if you have a low Cha, you're expected to roleplay them that way. We had a character in a previous game who was an elf with a 6 Cha. It was one of the more memorable characters we've ever had. He was gruff, mean, and ugly. He...

    Alternative origins of the drow

I run a Kingdom of Kalamar game and use the "Blood and Shadow" book for drow. On Telene the drow were originally a surface type of elf who's rulers were seduced by one of the evil gods... it lead to al LONG war which looked like it might get resolved, so the god had them flee instead to help...

    Summoner

In my game the player of the wizard did the rapid summoning variant and it has made for a fun character. They got the augmented summoning feat and at 4th level went Master Specialist (from complete mage). Also, there are a few really interesting summoning feats in the complete mage worth...

    Running clerics as spiritual counselors?

I remember in an old Birthright campaign I had that two of the players were playing a Paladin and a Cleric. In this case the paladin was the "chosen one" who had arrive and was made ruler of the land. The cleric was the "high priest" of the land who was pushed aside for the newly arrived...
