Feats, Monsters, and more - NEW website

@ Ghalleon - Thanks for checking it out and yes I gambled a bit by getting the site up and running before there was a ton of content, but I wanted a gauge for what people wanted. Out of the content that is up (an April Fool's monster, a review of Hammerfast, a feat for Bloddletting, two magic...

Feats, Monsters, and more - NEW website

Thanks for the well wishes Vendetta! I'm adding some new magic items in the "Freebies" section this weekend. I plan to produce at least one major free article per week and should be updating the site at least twice weekly (and more often as time permits.) :) Anyone who has any particulars...

    Non Crunchy Dm Screen Bits

I like to have a sheet of NPC names, Tavern/Inn Names, and two or three quick sidetrek-style ideas (the town's baker needs a rare spice that grows in a nearby swamp...can the PCs fetch it?). Anything that helps you think on your feet is good stuff. I've also always liked to have two or three...

Sources of images for use as tokens

Frank, These are PERFECT. Particularly love the shroom circles and the blank magic circles (DMs can write the effects in the circles if they choose). Thanks so much! Bill aka WCPFISH

Frank, Greetings again! Can i put in another request: Objects! Chairs, tables, trees, thorny shrubs, rocks and boulders. Maybe flour or grain sacks, whiskey barrels, whatever u can find! And one more: Elemental and fantasy-themed walls (wall of fire, water, ice, shadow, skulls)...

    DnD Zombie Wars

I actually did a major zombie encounter as one of the "set pieces" in my last campaign. Here are the details. A town was under attack and one of the lucky escapees is a friend of a PC and says, "Help save those who haven't escaped!" The escapee provided the PCs with the names of those...

    Appropriate vulnerability for Fey?

I vote for poison as well. Fey are typically portrayed as full of vigor and life (bacchanalian revelry and all that). Hitting them hard with poison seems very appropriate. Also, on the cold iron front, be careful as cold iron is magic weapon property (which nails Fey), just as info.

    Quick N Easy Damage Question

I thought I had this down, but now I'm second guessing myself.:erm: 1) A PC attacks with a mace using both hands. Damage is 1d8+1 (thanks to versatile property). IF he uses a power that deals 2 [w] damage is it now 2d8+1 or 2d8+2 (applying versatile twice). 2) Same question but Magic...

D&D 4E Not Suitable For Work: A 4e Design Contest Idea

This is just what we need 4e material created from 'memory of the rules'. This is such an epic fail waiting to happen. 3rd party publishers can't get things right as is with sources in front of them, playtesters, and proofreaders. Now let's get Bob from data entry to whip up a sweet feat from...

Best and worst of 4th Ed. Monsters

best, worst, and deadliest First the ones they got right - The Bulette is flat-out fun. If you haven't thrown a bulette at your party and watched the earth-churning, knocking- prone, leaping-bite hilarity that ensues, do yourself a favor and run such an encounter post haste. The bulette is...

    Attention DM's : Something Fun

thanks and note Thanks for the "thumbs up" guys! I just wanted to add a sidenote regarding Weem's comment about his player's getting to DM a bit without being overwhelmed. That was a side issue that was great as well. A couple of my players have experience from back in our days of - the DM only...

    Attention DM's : Something Fun

Just had to share something I did with my party this past weekend. They had a major overland journey to take in order to infiltrate a goblin compound. I (as the DM) typed up three random encounters and included notes on set-up, monster tactics, and made monster and terrain tiles and slightly...

    Critter Cache #1: Big Bugs

I too have bought this product and loved it! Please! Please! Goodman (and others if you can duplicate this quality) release more of these niche products. The ability to get a small themed group of monsters for a low price is fantastic. And a personal note to all producers of this sort of...

What (D&D/D20) adventures would/will you run for Halloween?

I ran back to-back weekends of celebrating Halloween adventures. First weekend the party journeyed to a tiny town known as Forge Hollow. Seems there was a legendary headless horseman who terrorized townsfolk and visitors alike. The party heard of that legend and had a major battle on the town's...
