I liked the review of Flex Mentallo, I posted it in the thread above after all. And I feel some of the observations made about that comic and the really great comics can be transferred over to the really great RPGs. As for authenticity, a lack of it doesn't make a show bad and its presence...

I have heard of Night Life but I've never actually seen a physical copy. Thought reviewing it would let me play "I Love The Night Life" in the review. But only if I liked it. Reviews of modules get fewer hits, though some of the big profile modules may get a review.

Joking aside and speculation aside, the link in the OP feels like a Ponzi scheme to me. The technical hurdles remain too high and profits too low.
