That's pretty well sums up how I felt about about Starship Troopers the movie as well. I do like Phil Tippett's work on the bugs, though, especially the tankers. I pop in the DVD from time to time simply for those scenes.

I worked in a video store back when this was first came out on home video. It had a gimmick slip sleeve box with a button you pressed and it would screech out, "WANNA DATE!? WANNA DATE?!" The box was better than the movie, but it's hard to give any movie with exploding hookers a thumbs down.

Very cool movie. I've had it on DVD since last summer. I do wonder how many changes we might see in it for a Stateside release. I understand that something like a half hour or so was edited out of Shaolin Soccer and Hero is being released by the same company.
