    D&D (2024) D&D species article

Possibly -- we just don't know. I'd support another species not having darkvision, personally. But the Aasimar shows us there is no reason to believe that the list in the article is complete.

    D&D (2024) D&D species article

Here's a list I made when MotM came out (crossing out one thing we know won't be in the PHB 2024): Size Difference for PCs. Small Can ride a medium mount (and so effective as a beastmaster ranger or battlesmith artificer). Using heavy weapons gives disadvantage. Can grapple/push Medium...

    D&D (2024) D&D species article

The article is not mentioning every ability with a class, and where it's silent I presume that what we saw in the playtest UAs is going to stand. My reason for thinking so is the Aasimar (see below). TL/DR: This is all pretty much what we knew form the Unearth Arcana. Changes underlined below...

(IC) Against the Giants PBP Group 2

The Colonel is tired. "How many giants are in this place?" he asks aloud, not really expecting an answer. Surely they must have most of them by now. He turns, as Kahru sprints off chasing the final bugbear. The Colonel knows that his back is covered as he turns and faces those coming in. With a...

    D&D (2024) 3,000 Player's Handbooks Available At Gen Con

Am I the only one who finds this news disappointing? I know WOTC's job is to bring as much disappointment to fans as possible, but when I read this, I'll admit, I just felt sad. Sure, it'll be nice for those who get it, and a bazillion pictures and leaks will follow within days, but my...

    D&D (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #3: "New Paladin"

Hey! Can I get in on this action? I didn't even know people could buy bridges.

D&D (2024) Players Handbook 2024 Art and Design video from WotC

Not mentioned so far is this piece of bard art (Gnome Bard with kobold dancing irresistably? If so they're fighting kobolds at level 11+)

    D&D (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

And, apparently, the nerfs keep coming. I continue to live in hope that the Ritual Caster feat will operate like it did in 2014 than as it did in the playtest. I expect to be disappointed.

    D&D 5E (IC) Fitz's Folly

If Miss Imogen is in the blast radius, then her save would be: DEX: 1d20+4=13 FAIL vs DC 14 but the last use of Lucky is a success (1d20+4=20 PASS). So If she is in the blast radius, damage is halved to 18 (and so she's at 33/51 HP) and she has no uses of lucky left. If she's not in the radius...

    (OOC) Fitz's Folly (ToA PBP)

Lean into it! For one turn see us as your enemies and do your best against us! what makes the coolest outcome for your character's story!? (That's why I attacked Weed -- Imogen and Weed have been friends since this games started in 2017.)

D&D (2024) To Revise or not to Revise: What to do about the other Subclasses?

It is, but I think the new Thaumaturge option goes a long way in letting any cleric ALSO be a knowledge cleric. Getting a +WIS bonus to Arcana and Religion checks is more limited than the old Blessings of Knowledge, but just as distinctive.

    D&D (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Bard"

It does -- thanks, sincerely, for spelling it out. And I agree with you if power level is what's being measured. In a more abstract (and admittedly subjective) measure, though, it sort of bites that something that is built for the paladin can be sniped, by up to six levels, by another class...

    D&D (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Cleric"

Not in 2014 -- that's only changed with the recent playtest stuff (I'm pretty sure).

    D&D (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Cleric"

I'm bolding the bit that I think isn't true -- Cleric cantrips may do more damage on average (once the +WIS bonus kicks in at level 8), but they are less fun, starting from level 1, since they aren't attacks that the player rolls, they are saves the DM has the creatures make. That's a choice...

    D&D (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Bard"

A level 10 Bard (PHB 2014) does get access to Find Greater Steed, which a paladin can only get at level 13. With the new (proposed) Find Steed, the discrepancy widens (since a Lore Bard can take the Find Steed at 6, and upcast to a flying mount at level 7, which (again) the Paladin can only do...
