    Hasbro selling d&d to piazo

Hasbro will hang on to the license until doomsday comes and trumpets sound. They have remained a competitive toy corporation for decades and part of that is how they cycle their toy production instead of riding licenses completely into the ground and then selling them off to avoid financial woes...

    Multiple Dice Sets Anyone?

I have played with a man (at least I'm assuming he was human) who had three sets of dice that he would rotate through the freezer at his girlfriend's house (who was our GM at the time). He would literally roll, stand up and walk into the kitchen (typically missing descriptions and key...

    Dungeon Master’s Keep - $150 GM Screen?

I get that it is a screen in the physical sense but there doesn't seem to be a place to even tack up note-cards or other references. Am I just that glaringly bad at photo-comprehension? Are those features yet to be implemented? OR...maybe I've been excited about the wrong kinds of GM screens...

Why is being "in print" important?

Similar to many previous replies, I find that I purchase books from currently published systems so that I can hook new players (or get old players jazzed up) who will then buy books. I get to feel like I am doing my part to secure the future of the table-top gaming industry. Then new systems...

Which celebrity would be your ideal RPG author?

Game System - United States Internal Revenue Service Campaign Setting - Philippa Boyens Adventure Material - Guy Ritchie (minus the awful Madonna years)

WFRP 1e: What's the best stuff?

There really wasn't that much proliferation of material in 1e, so the essentials mentioned above are solid choices. I'd also suggest tracking down a copy of the boxed set of Death on the Reik (part of the Enemy Within Campaign) as it absolutely rocked pants off at 1000yds. The Marienburg: Sold...

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay: 2e vs. 3e

The folks at Fantasy Flight Games have been sticking to the flavor of Warhammer Fantasy in a way that shows they care (even if it does present their view of the setting from time to time but hey that's progress for you). That being said they really haven't released any material that ventures...

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay: 2e vs. 3e

The main change to the setting is that they wound the clock back a bit from 2nd Edition and 3rd edition sits between the timeline of 1st and 2nd edition. Not sure if halflings made it back in to the 3rd edition yet but they got punted before the initial release (with plans to show up someday).

Have you ever been "That Guy"?

I was booted from a Marvel Super Heroes game back in the early 90's. Looking back at it now, I can see that it was primarily because my friend that was part of thier regular group had invited me and told me it'd be no problem and then reiterated that (for the first time) to the group on game...

Choosing the best system for a homebrew space opera campaign

Consider Cortex or Cortex Plus. Story heavy, rules light, and easily transferable to any setting. Serenity runs on Cortex. I don't think Cortex Plus is out as a published standalone system just yet (someone more versed may need to weigh in there...but it may only be available via Smallville...

I'm considering dropping Pathfinder to return to D&D 2e.

I think it makes perfect sense to GM a game that allows you to tell the kinds of stories that inspire you and your players. I started roleplaying with 1st Edition and had over a decade of fun with that game. However, along the way I came accross other game systems like d6 Star Wars, Warhammer...
