    Two Rods and Properties.

I have a warlock in my campaign I'm running and the question of whether or not a Rod of Reaving would kill a minion when a curse was placed on came up. In theory it seems like it would as the DMG states that even attacks that don't require attack rolls, like Paladin's Divine Challenge...

    Unconscious, Dying and your options

    1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes 4 and 5. I dunno, I don't think you can trigger an unconscious persons second wind. And even if you could, that seems pretty cheesy that you could do that instead of the much more correct stabilize the dying character dc 15. Up to you though, as it does say they don't...

    Rituals, lots of them !

Wha? Where's it say a wizard can only cast one ritual a day? I guess rants like yours work better when you twist facts to benefit your argument. Tellerve

    One character: many marks

I was under the impression you can only have one Mark on a creature at a time. So, warpriest or fighter, which mark do you want on him? Tellerve

New errata posted, stealth changes official

I agree with your breakdown, although you have to have a DM set up a battlefield to allow that. Some dungeons won't allow for that kind of movement. And if you do have say spots of cover, and as you pointed out, creatures would see you move to that point and get hidden. I think intelligent...

New errata posted, stealth changes official

I haven't played tons of 4e, just a few encounters and thought about it a lot, so perhaps you've found something I haven't. But you mention that rogues should use a combination and I wholeheartedly agree. From what I've seen on the boards people are saying that fights are usually done in less...

New errata posted, stealth changes official

How can you say in the previous paragraph exactly what I was talking about moving around in concealment and then tell me you can't. Yes, the battlefield would have to have concealment, but it can be done. Fleeting ghost allows it to happen easier as you can move more spaces. If you already...

    New Rituaaaals

Yes, exactly. Icefractal- I agree about excavation a bit, but still think a 5x5x5 hole would take longer than ten minutes to dig up. Even a couple people I think it would take some time...more than 10 minutes. Perhaps your ditchdigging is better than mine, but what little digging I've done...

    Goblin Hexer, Stinging Hex Question

This encounter power of the Goblin Hexer says it does 3d6+1 damage when the target moves during its turn. It also mentions a save ends. I take it to mean that this does 3d6+1 each and every round the target moves until he saves, which seems like quite a lot. Or am I missing something? Would...

New errata posted, stealth changes official

He doesn't necessarily need Fleeting Ghost. He would if he'd like to slink around in concealment/cover faster than 2 squares without a penalty. Although you could construe the wordage of Keep Still to mean if you didn't move over 2 squares you'd keep your original stealth check, but that's...

Bracers of the Perfect Shot and Eldritch Blast

Right, good point about Heavy Blade Opportunity. But certainly a good option for eldritch blast and magic missile. Thanks for the replies. Tellerve

Bracers of the Perfect Shot and Eldritch Blast

So, eldritch blasts says that it counts as a ranged basic attack. It got me wondering about Bracers of the Perfect Shot which add to a ranged basic attack. Would this work? Maybe not RAI but I think RAW it would work. Anyways, discuss. Btw, this would eventually work for bracers of mighty...

    Dungeon building Question

True, and also seeing as I want to use all the new kobold types in both the MM and the Dragon article I have a Medium sized chieftan, so I'm guessing they'll have a back escape area. As well as perhaps another entrance for the giant rat stables and vermin cages n' whatnot. But generally, yeah...

    Dungeon building Question

It seems to me from the pre-made dungeons I've looked at they are really not well designed to be defensible lairs. Are they built this way because that would take too much fun out of the adventure if they were that efficient? I have to guess that's probably why, otherwise I just don't get it...

    Swordmage booming blade "moves away"

True, they should by the letter of the rule. It'll be quite some time before I get to use it with Heavy Blade Opportunity :) Tellerve

    Swordmage: Class creep too fast?

For my swordmage, I took booming blade and Sword burst. I feel swordburst does well for the minion attacking effect that greenflame does. And booming blade I took, not only because of concept but also because I already had a AoE effect. And the extra damage if the target moves away is pretty...

    Swordmage: Class creep too fast?

Sword Burst, another at-will they have is a burst 1 that only effects enemies. It is force damage, does 1d6+int, but is implement, not weapon, so you loose out +2-3 on the attack. Still a great at-will for sure. I have that and Booming Blade for my swordmage. Tellerve

    Deathjump Spiders - Too Tough?

That's certainly true, although I feel like a lot of DMs don't have creatures break for escape/flee until it is far too late. But certainly something to consider, however, if a deathjump spider hits and does max damage, assuming you don't have a paladin or some power to allow a saving throw...

    Deathjump Spiders - Too Tough?

But anytime a wizard can slow down a skirmisher that is a good thing. As far as party dependent, look at them in comparison to the Fey Panther which is another sneaky pounce like level 4 skirmisher. If your wizard slowed both of them down, I'd certainly prefer to be in front of the panther...
