Looking For A Layout Template/Full Trade Dress

My partner and I are looking for someone to work with us on a full-color trade dress and interior layout for our first product. Please email me off-list if you're interested or know anyone who is! Samples of your work will help a lot. Matthew Colville Sojourner

What games do Wizards designers play?

I disagree. I think the typical D&D gamer roleplays only a little more than your average WoW player. I think for the average D&D player, "roleplaying" means "deciding what my character does." I don't think most players think it means "speaking in character."

    Funny "victory" lines?

Not D&D related, but this is a line I wrote for Mercenaries 2 (video game) when the Oil Company security guys (think WWF Wrestlers with uniforms and guns) win a battle; "Man that was so good, made me headbutt my mom!" Makes the actors and the engineer laugh every time.

Making Life Easier For the GM: Index of monsters & NPCs?

Yeah, but I've never used it because I'm not super interested in what a random dude's idea of a 1st level sergeant is. I know the WotC stuff isn't perfect, but I trust their designers better than an anonymous internet user. Now the Published NPC page is a great start, and indeed the kind of...

Making Life Easier For the GM: Index of monsters & NPCs?

One of the things that makes life hard for a GM is creating unique bad-guys. If you're like me, you've got tons of books, full of good stuff. Taking advantage of all of it is nigh-impossible unless you have several hours to spend looking through many different books Lots of GMs just wing it, or...

Adventures in Elsir Vale before Red Hand of Doom starts? - please no RHoD spoilers

I wove quite an epic series of interconnected adventures by knitting several smaller adventures, including The Obsidian Eye, Final Resting Place and Legacy of the Savage Kings. Culminating with the Red Hand. Which they're about halfway through right now.

And Conan should have a ??? accent?

I would say Welsh. I have an easier time imagine the mighty-thewed, panther-like Conan speaking with a Welsh lilt than I can a Scottish brogue. I think Welsh is more musical.

Logic behind sales of "Expedition to Castle Greyhawk"?

I don't think I would categorize DL as a "small, low-magic" campaign world.

Logic behind sales of "Expedition to Castle Greyhawk"?

Don't take those guys too literally. I do not interpret that statement as part of a larger plan for Greyhawk. The fact of the matter is; the folks in charge at WotC don't see Greyhawk as a flashship line. Nor do they see any benefit into developing it into one. Obviously there are some folks...

    Expedition to Undermountain Opinions?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the original Undermountain just a bunch of maps with no monsters? I seem to recall it being in some way critically deficient when it comes to adventures. WotC seems to be spending a lot of time trying to reinvent the wheel with adventures.

    Gleemax = Enworld

I would probably judge the initiative based on the name, except for one thing. Wii. I can't tell you how powerfully that name divided the development community. People, intelligent, well-reasoned people, bet real money that it was a joke. Turns out, it's a fine name and who cares? It's the...

    Castlemourn, Anyone Played it Yet?

I guess I don't really understand what Castlemourn is. As a campaign setting; it is a single castle? Is it a whole world, like the Forgotten Realms? Is it "generic fantasyland cosmetically reskinned" or is there some distinctive hook that separates it from, say, FR?

Is there anything cooler than a character sheet printed on crinkly, yellow parchment?

Someone, as I recall, in the early days of D&D3, did a version of the original D&D character sheet with the cloth boot for speed and the shield for AC. I loved that. Didn't save it, though, and couldn't ever find it again.

RPGNet - What's Up With the d20 Ghetto?

Right, well I understand that, but I don't think it makes sense. I mean to say, he's testing out his new idea on D&D because it's the most popular game out there, ok. But it's also served by THIS community which it does not make sense to ignore.

RPGNet - What's Up With the d20 Ghetto?

I think it might work out, we'll see. The premise of separating out a game into its own forum makes sense, but using d20 as the test case is probably a mistake. ENWorld serves that community way better than RPGnet can.

Good, Short, Urban Adventure for 7th-9th level

One of my friends and co-workers is leaving for another state next week. I want to run one last adventure for our Ptolus campaign before he leaves. The party is 7th or 8th level, and there are a lot of them. :) What I'm looking for, probably from Dungeon, is something for an Urban session that...

    Adventure Subforum?

One of the most common reasons I visit D20 resource sites like this, is because I'm looking for a good adventure. Would ENWorld benefit from having an Adventure forum or subforum?
