    The death of pbems...

Hmmm...my initial experience with play-by-post was that those games tended to be more munchkin-esque and less reliable. That's probably changed now. I guess I need to check it out. Would that be www.pbp.com? :) I still prefer email because I like to keep a post archive and it's easier to...

    The death of pbems...

When did D&D pbems begin to die? Five years ago there were more pbem postings on pbem.com than you could keep up with. It was a major challenge trying to decide which fascinating game to apply for. Now, the postings are sparse and the choices are terrible. I've been watching for months...

How should I allow a deaf PC?

I will tell you as a person completely deaf in my right ear that, on the surface, partial deafness isn't too bad. You can carry on conversations and interact for the most part without difficulty. Unfortunately, however, it carries several practical side-effects. Most notably, you don't hear...

    Crunch and Fluff?

Okay, I'm slow. I'll admit it. But in the meantime, could someone please explain to me what is crunch and what is fluff?

    Tell me about Wikis

Wikis come in a zillion different flavors, but most allow you some control over who can edit/post material. If you have your own hosting currently, visit www.hotscripts.com for an excellent archive of webscripts. You can find tons of various wiki scripts there. If you don't have a webhost...

    The perils of colocated servers?

Are your php and mysql requirements that unusual? Most hosts are fairly flexible and can accommodate most requirements. I run a small hosting company and we make customizations frequently for clients running particular scripts or with particular needs. Unless you need something way out in...

    Spring Ceramic DM™: WINNER POSTED!

I had originally planned to do the story as a farce, hence several elements of humor remained in the piece, but my farce muse deserted me early on. I had to beat something out of the horror muse again. Honestly, I swear I almost never write horror pieces. :D Just something about Piratecat's...

    Spring Ceramic DM™: WINNER POSTED!

Congratulations to Mythago, a very talented competitor I had no hope of besting, a fact of which I was brutally aware after that first round story. Now I can sit back and watch everyone else squirm with Piratecat's evil picture selection! :D

    Spring Ceramic DM™: WINNER POSTED!

Glad to know I'm not the only anxious one out there. :D I think it will be another 24-48 hours before Arwink has a chance to submit his judging. He seems to be a little overwhelmed at the moment with real life.

    Looking into online gaming.

Play-by-email can be fun if you get a good group. I recommend the listings at www.pbem.com to find a game. Also, www.pbemnexus.com has some listings but they can be kind of stale. They do have some great secure die rollers, rune casters, and even a secure Fudge roller though.

    Spring Ceramic DM™: WINNER POSTED!

Oh where, oh where has our P-Kitty gone? Oh where, oh where can he be? In this world of instant messaging, email, and MMORPG it's agony to have to wait for anything!! :D

Sorry for not hyperlinking the pictures but Explorer has crashed twice on me trying to do that tonight. Since I'm almost out of time I couldn't risk it again.

    Spring Ceramic DM™: WINNER POSTED!

drose25 v. Mythago Simon hummed a few bars of nonsense softly under his breath as he leaned up against one of the many glass cases in the room that ensconced a veritable treasure trove of fine jewelry. He'd been in this establishment entirely too many times recently, the clasp on the Bulgari...
