Gay men or women who play D&D

I'm not sure what the experiences of others might be, but for myself, I know that finding gay men and women who game has been a rare experience. Partly because I don't live in a big city, partly because most gays don't throw their time and imagination into gaming (or even sci-fi or fantasy...

What OGL/D20 games do you guys own or play?

Apart from D&D3e: Traveller T20 Dragonlords of Melniboné Wheel of Time Of these, I run T20 and D&D3e- that's about all I have time for. I do get to play in a Buffy RPG game, but that's not d20.

    Return of Mystara?

I don't believe so, no. They were doing Rob Kuntz's Garden of the Plant Master for both 3e and Hackmaster, but WotC nixed the dual stats (it will actually only be 3e/Kalamar). I'm fairly sure they would likewise decline letting Kenzer do any of these old settings for 3e.

    Return of Mystara?

Though I'm not a Hackmaster fan or player, I thought I should interject that Kenzer & Co. does in fact have the license to nearly all materials published by TSR/WotC prior to 3e, excepting the Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Dragonlance, and I beleive Planescape. That does mean they get to poke at...

What module would you use to start a campaign?

Of Sound Mind, by Fiery Dragon. I cannot state enough how much my players and I enjoyed this module.

REVIEW: Soundtrack of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

The image that sprang to my mind hearing the voice of this singer was a very inappropriately falling-down-drunk eight-year-old. The song could be good, but not with this person singing it, in my opinion. Never heard of her before, either- I wasn't expecting Enya to do every vocal for the movie...

Fury in the Wastelands: The Orcs of Tellene

Do the instructions on making a Black orc read something to the effect of: "When an orc, a goblin-man, a wizard and a mud-puddle love each other very much..." I was going to try to stay on my budget and not get this, but dammit, between Outlaw and JoeG, I think I missed my Will save.

    Anybody from Anchorage?

Not currently from Anchorage, but planning to return in a few years, for good this time. I'd lived there for only two years, but in a few more years of dealing with other stuff in the Lower 48, I'll be more than ready to come back.

What was your first ever D&D product?

Mine was the green boxed Basic set, back in the winter of '78, when Basic was supposed to be a lead-in to the as-yet-unreleased Advanced. I still have the very tattered copy of B1 that came in the box, the rest is lost to the ravages of wear and tear. Come to think of it, at this hour of the...

    Question...odd thing happening.

Similar experience for me: I voted and posted on Sir Edgar's Poll (How much do you mix genres in your game?) yesterday. Last evening, I got an e-mail saying someone had responded to my post. I came back this morning, and my post is gone, the poll shows that I have not voted, and the e-mailed...

    Good Drow

As cliche as it sounds, IMC, the only good drow is a dead drow. Every once in a while there might be a non-evil drow, but good ones are generally detected and eliminated. Also, I don't allow drow as PC's, saving myself and my campaign from a world of grief and Drizzt wannabes.

What is the general alignment of kender?

I would say True Neutral, but not for the reasons given in the poll. Morelike, they are neutral in the sense that all non-magical, non-sentient animals are neutral. Gods, I hate kender.

    [PirateCat] Viking Kittens

Don't know if you've seen this before, but Darklone at the KoK boards recommended that I post it to you, and all the folks here at ENWorld. Requires Macromedia Flash and a set of speakers to enjoy fully. Viking Kittens Who's Of Sound Mind now, eh?:D

[OT] Do you think there should be an OT forum?

Not only should there be one, it should allow off-topic and humorous polls!

Which classic adventure would you like to see republished next?

I voted "Other." Specifically, I'd like to see the Saltmarsh series come alive in 3e. Good series. For the record, Keep on the Borderlands has been redone by Kenzer & Co. for Hackmaster, under the title, "Little Keep on the Borderlands.":D

Who would you like to draw your character?

    Roger Dean; perhaps Phil Foglio.

Do your characters wear their armor all day long?

Most of my players' characters wear armor only when "in the field" and then only during the day or when on watch at night. The exception being the leather-wearers, who wear armor in town as well, but still not at night, unless they're looking for trouble. I've seen, in the SCA, armored fighters...

    Coolest weapon from literature?

Vlad Taltos' Spellbreaker. More defensive than offensive, but always a surprise to a really buff sorcerer.

    Of Sound Mind

I ran this module for my group a few months ago; none of the party were psionic, though I allow them in my campaign (Kalamar). I use the option of psionics being different from magic in my game, which the players began to realize about halfway through the adventure- they hadn't realised the...

Why don't you buy non-WoTC stuff?

I actually buy less WotC stuff, now that I have the core books, splat books, psionics and the MotP. That's all I need from WotC, IMO. Most of my game purchases now and for the foreseeable future are Kalamar and Traveller d20 related, though I also plan on picking up Nyambe and am on the lookout...
