    Elven Thinblade

This has probably come up before. If so, I can't find it, though. A Thinblade is an Exotic Weapon, thus needing a Feat to use properly, but has the same threat range and negligibly more damage than a Rapier. What's the payoff for spending a feat? What am I missing?

Grease - Uses of and effectivity.

This may fall into the realm of House-Rules, but... It's Grease. Grease is flamable. 'Nuff said.

    I Need Staying Power

I'm in roughly the same boat with an Elven Ranger- so I have to work with the light armor restriction to boot. Combat Expertise, Dodge, and if necessary Fighting Defensively, with flanking bonuses a MW sword, Weapon Finesse, and hitting enemies when they're not looking making up for the BAB...

How to avoid detection vs Alarm

How to avoid detection vs Alarm

Let me offer an out of the box suggestion. Don't try to avoid it. Set it off. Often. Everywhere. Generate so frickin' many false positives that eventually either the mages take the darn thing down to avoid the headache (works best if you do this at 2:00 AM) or the guards start ignoring the...

    Craven feat, overpowered?

I haven't read Champions of Ruin, but a couple thoughts: The idea behind the feat seems to be that you're a coward who is used to attacking from the flanks and rear, and are thus better at it, but fold like a card table when confronted head on. +1 damage/level is WAY too much. +1/SA die, I...

    Conflicting HIPS?

I don't know about Camoflage off top my head- I'm not familiar with it, however, combining HIPS gets fun. Take, for instance, a Shadowdancer/Wildrunner (give me a few more levels...). He can then Hide in Plain Site anytime he's close enough to a shadow OR in natural surroundings. Or, in other...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Converting 2E Psionics to 3.5

At the risk of starting a horrible jihad that can only end in tears, psionics in 2E weren't overpowered- just poorly used. If the ONLY person in the campaign world with psionic ability was one of the PC's, then, yes, psionics seemed overpowered. But then, if no one else in the world could use...

    Dragon fighting tactics?

I'm curious to know what happens. I have *never*, in ANY RPG, seen a party take out a dragon without the DM making a string of horrible tactical decisions. The biggest mistake I've seen is playing a close-fighting Dragon that has apparantly forgotten that it can fly. A dragon can be...

    Miss chance question

Miss chances due to Concealment do not stack- the best is used. If you have a 50% Concealment bonus and a 20%, only the 50% is used. If you have miss chances from a Concealment and a Non-Concealment source (Examples not coming to mind) then the two are rolled seperately- not added together...

    Martial Artist?

Missed the armor proficiencies, and Ranger was something along the lines of what I was mentally comparing this class to, mechanics-wise. The class is an interesting one, though. I kinda like it.

    Martial Artist?

Some thoughts, in no particular order, and all IMO: Trap Sense is inappropriate for the concept. I'd take it out. The Light Step and Improved Light Step Feats seem a bit overpowered to me. Good ideas, but overdone. I would tone them down some. I would think twice about allowing a base...

    ACK! I Hate level 15!!

I can tell you some of the things going on in the High Level campaign I'm in- some good, some bad. One of the things our DM has done is creating high-level "Bad Guy" adventuring parties. Armed with nasty templates, powerful gear, and pre-determined tactics based on an almost complete knowledge...

    Is this fair?

A couple possible loose ends, then, that players might pick up on. First of all, it's *really* hard to ask around about someone without tipping your hand that that's what you're doing. It's possible, but much harder, and much less reliable. It involves getting people into conversations that...

    Is this fair?

First off, let me say that I don't see much wrong with this scenario, assuming that the opposition is run fairly. I'm not impugning you, mind you, I'm just saying that if this assassin is lvl 20, then this is a bit over the top. But let's back up a bit. How does this assassin know where the...

Looking for a group in Indianapolis, IN

Just moved back to Indianapolis, looking for a D&D 3.5 campaign to join. Setting doesn't matter much to me- published or home grown.
