What RPG for the Twilight book series?

Ah, in late but I was going to suggest Spirit of the Century/FATE or the PDQ system. Any of the four you narrowed it down to are great as well though.

How do you like your coffee?

Hot, strong, black, made in a French Press.

    [August] What are you reading?

The Prefect by Alistair Reynolds. This is the first thing I've read by Reynolds and I'm about halfway through and enjoying it a lot.

Rate GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra

I went in to it wanting to see some crazy action and got some crazy action. I give it a 6.

    Board Game Geek's RPG Beta

My new quote of the day is "They don't understand the nuances of RPG collecting." Really though, I'm pretty pumped over RPGG. It'll give me even more ways to find things to spend money on...

Rate Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I gave it an 8. Really enjoyed it. And I'll echo Crothian in that it didn't feel long at all. Especially when compared to Order of the Phoenix.

Mearls talks about his inspiration for the 4e classes

I had forgotten all about the Huntsmen until you mentioned them. Okay, those might have been scarier. Back to the OT though, whichever episode of the Atomic Array podcast covered the PHB2 had one of the designers mention Batman as an influence on the Avenger as well.

Mearls talks about his inspiration for the 4e classes

When I was younger the Cauldron-Born were the freakiest villains I had ever read in a book.

Name me a system: Modern Horror

Savage Worlds perhaps? Or for something a bit more off the wall, Inspectres?

Artwork in an ad - question

It's a d20 Fantasy setting set in something similar to a Renaissance type world with elves and such in it. All the art they are using for marketing is art from the actual books they are producing.

    Jack McDevitt-like sci-fi

I just want to drop in and say thanks for starting this thread. Because of it I picked up "A Talent for War" the other day and am totally loving it.

    Suggest an RPG (not D&D)

I didn't even think of Fairy's Tale. Great idea! That or a PDQ game like Zorceror of Zo or Swashbucklers of the 7 Skies

    Suggest an RPG (not D&D)

For a one on one game I'd personally recommend staying away from some of the more storygame/indie press type stuff like Spirit of the Century and Prime Time Adventures. I think the real beauty of the of these systems comes from everyone bouncing ideas around and not sure how well that'd work...

    Games you won't play

Generally I'll play anything besides DnD or super nich indie press games where the whole game is focused on playing only one thing. Though to be fair I'd still play Shab-Al-Hari Roach. I also tend to stay away from fantasy in general, and it is a genre that requires a good pitch for me to be...

Got the game last week. Haven't been able to play it yet sadly but looking forward to it for sure.

    Deadliest Warrior on Spike (spoilers)

I haven't even seen this show, but I was chatting with him while he was watching the Yakuza vs Mafia one and everything he said they were doing just sounded completely bogus to someone like me with only a passing understanding of actual firearms combat. Like giving the mafia shotguns vs the...

    Best Roleplaying Podcasts

Bear Swarm - similar to the Podge Cast and Fear the Boot but with their own unique chemistry. Accidental Survivors - focuses mostly on modern gaming, but very good 'cast. d6 Feet in a Random Direction - overall hobby games cast, but they focus a lot on RPGs. They do tend to focus a lot on small...

    BattleTech

BattleTech/Mechwarrior RPG were my first ever hobby games. They will always hold a special place in my nerdy heart. That box set is pretty amazing too.
