    Facebook: D&D Tiny Adventures Rocks!

I really enjoy it. Helps me pass the time at work on slow days. The little snippets are often pretty funny as well.

So What is a Roleplaying Game? Forked Thread: Clark Peterson on 4E

I'm not sure if any RPG out there has this level of "reality" in the combat resolution. Except maybe Riddle of Steel. I think it'd be a neat system, and I'm sure others do as well. However, something that in-depth would probably turn a large percentage of the potential player base away.

    Supernatural Season 4 - Spoilers

Well, stop Sam's trip down that path. I believe the quote was something like "Sam is headed down a dangerous path, and we don't know where it leads. So stop it, or we will."

    Supernatural Season 4 - Spoilers

Really interesting episode. I don't think anyone was really surprised by the bit at the end where Dean is supposed to stop Sam, but good to get it out in the open.

    Warhammer Fantasy vs. 40k roleplaying

EDIT- Too slow, and I got it wrong. That's what I get for going off the top of my head and not looking at the book.

    Rule "Yes"

One example I can think of is during a Spirit of the Century game I was running. One of the player's was playing a super scientist. One of the recurring villains I was using was also a super scientist, albeit a mad one. Anyway, after the first time said antagonist showed up in the story, the...

Looking for a (good) point based fantasy RPG

Fantasy HERO, Savage Worlds, Burning Wheel. In that order.

    Rule "Yes"

Indeed. Actually, I think the argument can just as easily run the other way. A steady supply of "no" and "yes, make this roll" suits an adversarial hack and slash game quite well. Meanwhile a "yes" answer to ideas and plot hooks can create an very fun and engaging narrative experience. Even...

    Space RPGs?

A little. With a group of DnD players and with a group of friends who either aren't gamers, or at least not RPers. The second group got the game a lot more. But yeah, it is a bit daunting sometimes.

    Space RPGs?

Yeah, it's a slight disconnect from more traditional RPGs but I think it is a shining example of how sometimes mechanics do matter for the story you are telling.

    Games you've bought recently?

Twilight Imperium, Arkham Horror, and Starcraft. All are games I've played before and loved, but found a good deal on them and bought them up.

I really dig the cover art.

[Boardgame]Anybody out there still play RoboRally?

I play every now and then. And every time we play we realize that our one friend's spatial awareness is far superior to the rest of ours'.

    Have you played these boardgames?

Only played Race for the Galaxy. And I love it. Whenever my gaming buddies and I get together for anything we usually play at least a game or two. Sometimes 10. I've always wanted to play Twilight Struggle, but it is pretty expensive and not many people I know feel like playing a long war game...

    Space RPGs?

Burning Empires, using the Burning Wheel system is a lot of fun. It is based off the Iron Empires graphic novels. You play out the invasion of a planet by these alien parasites. Really set up well for storytelling and you get to create the planet together with the players. Or you could run...

Heroes: (Volume Three: Villains) The Second Coming--Season Premiere

Loved it. Sylar, Elle, and Noah continue to be my favorites. Be interesting to see this year who steps up to do the right thing and who takes an easier path. Oh, and "What? That's disgusting."
