    Savage Worlds: Question for Ari

that is quite wrong. there are loads of option for combat in SW. You can narrate what you like and make it a smarts / agility trick, or whatever you can come up with. Its all about leaping from chandeliers, throwing whiskey in your opponents eyes, slamming barrel over them etc. If you just sit...

Did WotC underestimate the Paizo effect on 4E?

possibley we had bought lots of 3.5, but where getting a little tired with it when 4 came along i think we maybe bought 5 of each book between the ten of us, but very few splat books. we played some home written stuff, LFR and a few of the bog mods. 2 became subscibers. After 6 months we all...

    Savage Worlds: Question for Ari

SK can be a little combat heavy, if you follow the plot point campaign in the book we have completed europe and are in the middle of the africa quests it can feel a little 'monster' of the week but the fights are pretty challenging and you need fair tactics, and tricks to beat some of the beasties

Are there Fun/Unique/Interesting Differences in American vs. UK gaming sensibilities?

it does seems many in the UK like to play 'tormented' heroes whereas it is percieved those in the US like 'shining' heroes I blame it on the weather personally i much rather play 'proper' heroic heroes....so 'winning' while sticking to my principles rather than 'failing'' while struggling to...

    Tips On Being Evil

cos the stake is low, who wins a game of cards, i dont this is an important enough issue Almost any of the 9 alignments could cheat at cards, or tweak the rules, or read an interpretation of the rules and not be in an alignment violation, and certainly not be seen to do anything evil IMO, as...

    Tips On Being Evil

I always thought evil was based on 'how do you value the life of other sentients'... ..so humans in this world, one of many races in the fantasy world so the sum of things like slavery, how you treat non-coms / civilians, prisoners, your own sick, eldery and infirm other races other sexes...

    For the Love of Dungeons

I like dungeons, but the game system would have to be one where you could do a 12-14 room dungeon in one session: As long as it was something like 3-4 probably unavoidable fights 1-2 trick/trap/wierd/puzzle rooms 2-3 probably avoidable fights/social encounters 1-3 empty rooms (ransacked...

First Impressions from the Savage Worlds Test-Drive

I have a home made sci SW i changed from a d20 game i dont think you need to make the armor bonus outrageously high, otherwise the maths becomes hard work and you loose some of the F,F,F I think armour in the 4 to 8 range should be plenty i have some high end blaster rifles that do 3d8 damage...
