    Heroes Must Rise! [Erekose13 Judging](Concluded)

Planus doesn't have much room for extra weight. He'll leave some stuff behind if necessary to take the magic morning star, but if someone else can carry it then that's probably better. Other than that, he's ready for the trip.

S1: The Strange Case of Aif Jenkins' Farm (E13 judge) - Concluded

Beamer tenses, hoping the paladin's weakness is not a feint to throw them off guard. He inquires of Eusebius over the mindlink, Would the orc and cultist attacks explain his lack of reporting, or was had it start longer ago? What he says is consistent with the magic I detected from the...

S1: The Strange Case of Aif Jenkins' Farm (E13 judge) - Concluded

I will keep it hidden. Beamer follows Eusebius's lead and does nothing to indicate he has the scythe, until Eusebius indicates otherwise.

my new magical weapon special abilities - balanced?

I would make it a flat cost of something like 1.5x or 2x the cost of the items you are emulating. This would be similar to making the item you are emulating a slotless item.

E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

Nars puts a finger to his lips. He will try to slip quietly and under cover in the direction of the noise. OOC: Hide +12, Move Silently +12, Listen +4, Spot +8

    Heroes Must Rise! [Erekose13 Judging](Concluded)

Planus deposits the crossbow and bolts and instead takes a refill of arrows. He also points out the magic items to the others and specifically picks up the scroll to inspect it. "What's this? Hey, Iggy, do you know what's on here?" OOC: Planus takes up to 40 arrows if there are that many.

    Heroes Must Rise! [Erekose13 Judging](Concluded)

"Hmmm. I wonder if they had any magic items?" Planus says while strangely twitching his arms for some reason. OOC: Cast detect magic and scan the fallen Gith.

    Concealment and Coup de grace

The only rule regarding concealment and coup de grace is for total concealment: For partial concealment, I guess you'd have to pick whether it was one round or two.

    Heroes Must Rise! [Erekose13 Judging](Concluded)

Planus does a dance in mid-air, thanking Mongrel for his many blessings in this battle. "Go Mogrel, Go Mongrel! Wow! Did you see that? They didn't stand a chance. Oh, but he zapped you pretty good, Ducane." Planus drops his other spiritual weapon spell to cast cure moderate wounds* on...

    Heroes Must Rise! [Erekose13 Judging](Concluded)

Planus casts spiritual weapon and silence at the Gith. He also floats up as far as possible to get a better view and to see if he can get a shot with his bow that is not blocked by his allies. OOC: Cast quickened silence (DC 15) at the spell caster. Cast spiritual weapon (1d20+3=17, 1d8+2=3)...

Response to Psionics Nerf (Move from inappropriate placement in House Rules thread)

If a wizard has prepared spells that are not applicable to the current encounter, that is no guarantee those spells will be applicable to the next encounter. If a wizard has the wrong spells prepared, the wizard may have "gone nova" for the day without even realizing it because he cast his only...

Response to Psionics Nerf (Move from inappropriate placement in House Rules thread)

I completely agree and did not overlook that. A prepared caster can also cast all his high level slots on one encounter, and can do it more quickly if he has some quickened spells. How does that make spontaneous casters better off with one encounter per day than a prepared caster? Is it your...

Response to Psionics Nerf (Move from inappropriate placement in House Rules thread)

I'm curious about this assertion. I don't understand why spontaneous casters do better than prepared casters in a single encounter. I think its the other way around because: 1. Spontaneous casters in all but the lower levels have more spells per day. 2. Prepared casters lose flexibility with...

S1: The Strange Case of Aif Jenkins' Farm (E13 judge) - Concluded

Beamer is getting tired of people not talking to him or his companions. When traveling with only Banion, he'd blamed it on their size and stature, but apparently the larger peoples weren't getting any more respect. So far he had done a fairly good job of figuring out why people wanted to kill...

E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

"Yes, er, ah, day is probably best." He eyes Percy a little carefully as the blade whizzes around, but decides not to say anything.

S1: The Strange Case of Aif Jenkins' Farm (E13 judge) - Concluded

"I'm Beamer Glimmereye. I'm glad you've come around. We're from Orussus, though most not originally. Who are you, and what can you tell us of what happened here?" OOC: I've got to start reading more closely when dead, gray featureless bodies are about. Oh well, Beamer still doesn't know...

    Heroes Must Rise! [Erekose13 Judging](Concluded)

Seeing the magical battle going on inside the ship, Planus calls upon Mongrel to get him in there. He zips by and says, "Mongrel destroy this magic!" OOC: Cast fly quickened. Fly into the ship to get line of effect to the pilot. Cast targeted dispel magic on the pilot (Caster level 6). If...

E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

"I'll, er, wield it if you, ah, prefer, but, ah, I think you should, er, give it a try. Nezrak is, ah, probably better off with his, er, magic." OOC: The size penalty is only -2. I think you were using -4 for your calculation. Nars uses weapon finesse so would take the same -2 penalty for...

E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

"I do, ah, prefer an, ah, shorter blade. Perhaps, er, Gorefoot could, ah, use it. It is, er, sized wrong, but he's, ah, more than strong enough to, er, use. And it's, ah, his clan home." Nars will take a middle watch since it is probably darkest then.
