    Superior Implement (accurate).

I agree. The Superior Implement feat is rated gold on the optimization boards. Thus, imo, one should have to use the transfer magic ritual in order to transfer the magic from the magical implement onto a superior implement. The ritual only costs 200 gp. And it seems like that's the way it would...

    Superior Implement (accurate).

Yes, the authors on the optimization boards definitely seem to know their stuff. I refrence those boards a lot. My DM's despise the fact that my characters are so effective *I don't even do the cheesy combos either* (my DM's claim that the effectiveness of my characters belittles the other...

    Superior Implement (accurate).

Thanks for the replies. I understand now. The thing is; I noticed on the optimization boards that the authors always rated Superior Implement (accurate) "the best thing since sliced bread." And, true, Superior Implements can be very beneficial, but, there seems to be a couple "hoops one has to...

    Superior Implement (accurate).

A +2 Accurate Staff ??? If I wanted such an implement, then would one have to buy an Accurate Superior Implement, then use the Enchant Magic Item ritual (or Transfer Magic ritual) to add an enhancement bonus to the Superior Implement - then take the Superior Implement (Accurate) feat? But I...

    Superior Implement (accurate).

If I have a regular magic staff + 2, and then take the superior implement feat (accurate); would this +1 from the accurate add +1 to hit with my implement attacks when using my +2 regular magic staff?

The Now Defunct Compendium Search Engine and the Evil Wizards

Yes, it's bad. it doesn't even let you go the next page when looking up a category. It just gets cut off, starting with things starting with the letter B. But, it looks official.

The Now Defunct Compendium Search Engine and the Evil Wizards

Much to my dismay, I went to the free compendium search engine thing Dungeons & Dragons Compendium today (and practically live there when I'm on-line) and saw that they have totally changed it. One used to be able to fiilter and sort monsters, magic items, and other game elements...

    Conjurations and Movement

Thanks for your perspective. Ah, yes, a psion spamming Dishearten, augmented, combined with things like psychic lock, is enough to make any DM pull his or her hair out (and also creates a big debate as to whether or not 4ed failed in its psion design, and psionics, in general). That said, being...

    Conjurations and Movement

The Rules Compendium seems somewhat unclear. Reading on-line debates about the matter seem in inconclusive. There seems to be good and bad arguments on both sides of the issue. The consensus seems to be, its a DM's call. My personal opinion is, to allow conjurations to move in any direction...

    Reign of Steel - 1(W) Damage ????

My experience with it has been somewhat of a Catch 22; given that if I have a lot of enemies around me, I end up doing a bunch of damage with it, but, if I have a lot of enemies around me, they also tend to pound on me, and a lot of the time, knock me unconscious, and once knocked unconscious...

    HP calculation for solo monsters?

Not always. The Silt Horror from the Dark Sun CC is a 12 level solo lurker with a Con of 20, 496 hp, which works out to be 8hp/level. I can't remember the others off the top of my head, but I noticed a few other solo lurkers like that too.

How do you feel about monster templates?

I like them, and I wish there were more of them. A lot need to be tweeked here and there (but what in the hell in this game doesn't? Especially, monsters.), and a lot of times their powers have to be given new names and such to fit the type of monster- but I think that part is fun. And the...

    Adding Class Templates to Monsters

Yes, I'm about to do something like that, because, on one hand, the power i chose is too strong given my original formula, but weak, given Jester's suggestion (granted, it has 3 chances to crit though). Another thing I don't understand with the new (-ish) damage expressions is, what about...

    Adding Class Templates to Monsters

I think understand your math, and your formula appears to work; but, in your formula, where are you getting the idea of taking the average amount of damage of a given attack and plugging it into the formula? Is it some sort of implicit math-thing? *note: I suck at math* Maybe you could...

    Adding Class Templates to Monsters

Ah. I see. I'm working on a Frost Giant Ranger right now, and given that I selected a few ranger powers that have mutiple attacks, I'm very curious to see how it all pans out after I'm done. Thanks for the help.

    Adding Class Templates to Monsters

Hmm. Don't you think that can be unbalanced in some cases? For example, I'm adding a Ranger template to an existing level 30 monster, and the power; Three-in-One Shot: Target: One creature Attack: Dexterity vs. AC, three attacks. If the first attack hits, you gain a +5 bonus to the second and...

    Adding Class Templates to Monsters

When adding a class template, e.g., fighter, cleric, rogue, etc, to a monster, thereby adding class powers to a monster, does one use the standard attack modifiers and damage expressions for monsters, or do you use the the attack and damage formulas stated by the actual class power? Or is it...

Dark Sun Themes in a Non-Dark Sun, Custom Campaign World

I myself didn't think about using an action point in conjunction with it. Nonetheless, it only seems powerful at very low levels. Albeit, the Wilder Avenger might gain additional attacks granted by his allies (and is own immediate perhaps), in the meantime. Granted, anyone with the theme power...
