Dark Sun Themes in a Non-Dark Sun, Custom Campaign World

True. But there are more alternate powers to choose from. I usually allow everything. But I do make an exception for Dragonmarks, being that they obsolete a lot of similar, but less powerful feats. Moreover, when I allowed them, I never had a leader NOT take the Mark of Healing (and "must have"...

Dark Sun Themes in a Non-Dark Sun, Custom Campaign World

I'm about to start a campaign, set in a world of my (and the groups) own making; and I was wondering; if you yourself did something like that, would you let players choose Dark Sun themes (albeit, change the names and fluff)? It doesn't seem like it would create any problems, except that...

    Armor of Shared Health

Ha, yes, it does lead to mega-healing, even when just used with Healing Word combined with the Supreme Healing Feat; it basically leads to like +4 healing surges/encounter for the healer, and that's just with those things, let alone, other healing powers. And all that seems a bit much (albeit...

    Armor of Shared Health

Property: When you use a healing power that benefits an ally, you also regain hit points equal to one-half the hit points the ally regains. My question is: If you heal multiple allies with a power, does one get on-half of the hit points that each ally regained?

    Arcanist playtest

I've yet to fully analyze the material, but a few powers that were nerfed are the ones that were pretty much "auto-takes," as cited on the optimization boards, and it's pretty boring when a power is an "auto-take," imo- I myself like having to make decisions when character building, especially...

    Curse Eye Tattoo

When you use Curse Eye Tattoo do you have to designate the target as soon as you spend the AP, or can you wait until you make your additional action first and then apply it?

    Monster Auras That Mark

Well, the creatures in questions are, "Prison of Mual Tar" from MM III, which have that type of aura in an aura 5, thus, there is considerable overlap when there are a few of them. I do like the idea of running it like the defender aura in Essentials; it seems like a simple and efficient...

    Monster Auras That Mark

If a monster has an aura that marks enemies at the the start of an enemie's turn, and if a character starts his or her turn within multiple aforementioned auras, then how does one decide what monster actually marks the character? Is it the DM's call?

Speed 0, Fly Speed x, Prone, and Crawling

Perhaps I overlooked something in the Rules Compendium, but say a Hell Wasp Devil (who has a speed of 0, but a fly speed of 8) is knocked prone. I'm guessing that it cannot crawl? Or can it fly-crawl? (so long as it fly-crawls at least 2 squares).

    Playtest: Warlock Updates

At the end of the document where it lists all the changes, it states that "Hurl through Hell," damage has been reduced, and the teleportaion keyword has been cut. But I see that the "teleportation" keyword is still noted in the power block. I just thought I'd point that out.

    Thunder Summons: sorcerer attack 17

Target: 1, 2, or 3 creatures Attack: x vs. y Hit: . . . and you teleport the target to a space adjacent to your enemy that is nearest to it. I'm having trouble understanding how this power works. Do you teleport the target as soon as it is hit, or after all the attacks have been resolved...

    Feats, Feats, Feats

I only use the Marks in the Eberon setting, and even then, I make them race specific (as noted in the Eberon material). If you don't, I guarantee, every leader at your table will always end up with Mark of Healing, and every player that targets primarily Will, will all have the Aberrant Mark of...

    What's changed?

I agree about the assault mage, I have a 30th level one, and she's pretty weak and she's even optimized. I think IB should have been a class feature, and the Aegis feature should advance per tier, to work as Double Aegis at paragon, and Total Ageis, at epic. And even then. . . Besides a...

    Why the renaming of classes?

But I thought there were no divine characters in Dark Sun, given that the gods are kaput? Edit: ooops. After i read more, somebody already pointed this out. But yeah, when I hear templar, I automatically think of Dark Sun. And I think the name "templar" sounds to exotic for the cleric. I...

Making a Standard Creature an Elite and Recharge Powers

The dm's guide also says when converting a standard monster into an elite, it's a good idea to double up one of it's attacks, a la', "double attack" as a standard action, so that it's like two monsters, so I'm wondering that if i create an elite with two attacks per round, then I should probably...

Making a Standard Creature an Elite and Recharge Powers

In the dm's guide, it states that when converting a standard monster into an elite, to auto recharge its encounter power when it's first bloodied, but I'm not quite sure if the dm's guide means by encounter power, encounter powers that recharge on a dice roll as well, or just one-time use...

    "Domination" Domination

I was just curious, if anyone else has a problem with: x gets dominated; dominator makes x run thru crowd; crowd gets OA vrs. x; x = dead. (?) Because that's pretty much what happens if anyone gets dominated in my games. Or, at least, what should happen, that is, if monsters or players are...

    When Holding A Two-handed Weapon

Yeah, I thought maybe planting a battle standard while holding a two-handed weapon might be too awkward. But I'm happy about the clarifications (the replies), because my party with 3, two-handed weapon wielders, just bought a bunch of battle standards, and magic flutes, whitstles, and stuff.
