    D&D for my 5 and 6 year old-help please

I've never had to find alternate systems for my kids. Simply have them tell you what they want to do and roll a d20. Did they beat the AC/DC? Then you did it! That simple. They don't have to be rules lawyers to have fun. In fact, the less my players know of the rules the easier my job is ;)

    D&D for my 5 and 6 year old-help please

Spot on. I play with my 6 year old all the time. My wife plays an elven ranger (big LOTR fan). The daughter plays a homebrewed fairie race as a sorcerer, and casts nothing but magic missle and ray of frost. She loves to hack n slash through random dungeons. As far as gameplay, use lots of...

Rating Classes by Ease of Play

Glyfair's dead on. As far as getting someone started in DND, definatly go combat heavy pregens. Stick with the sorcerer for the mage, its easier for people to wrap their heads around that.

Hasn't D&D become even more fun lately?

The game is only as fun as the DM. That being said, this DM enjoys it as much as ever!

    Fudging dice rolls

I use the official 3.5e screens released by WOTC. It keeps my maps and plans obscurred enough without totally cutting me off from the game. And I always roll behind the screen. I typically only fudge against the party when the story calls for it, but usually its in the parties favor.

    Dice!

Oh man, don't get me started on Dice. I'm a real Dice Wierdo, and proud of my collection. They aren't the most expensive dice, but each one is not only translucent, but hand picked for their unique feel. No, not roll or texture, I have to "feel" the dice. Its a thing. Oh, and I have exactly...

    The ripping of character sheets

Dude. If a DM ever did that to me, I would rip something of his, and it won't be paper.

    D&D 3E/3.5 Here's What I Wish I Could Fix About 3E/4E

Well, if you actually own a PHB, there are starting packages with each class. That kinda solves the problem of people having a hard time deciding, when they really just want to play a ranger, or wizard, etc. When I first got into the game I wanted to play a Ranger, you know Strider and all...

Joking and Teasing: How far is too far?

I'm running into this exact problem with a new member to my group. There is one particular person he keeps on zinging. I'm not sure what to do, I mean, I do my fair share of ribbing, but I try to zing someone and let it go, even try to be positive. I guess I was picked on a lot as a kid and...

    Robot Chicken on Cartoon Network

Did you see the D&D parody on Robot Chicken? Some classic fantasy monsters were in a keep sitting around a table playing an RPG where they were office workers. One of the monsters did a saving throw against loosing data in an Excel spreadsheet. I laughed my hiney off.

    The RPG Class Test

Palladin! Man, that sucks. I NEVER play the Palladin, always the fighter, druid, or sorcerer.

    Is D&D Your Favorite RPG?

All in all, D&D, and d20 in general, is my favorite. Not because its the best, not because its the easiest, but because I simply love it. D&D/d20 has been good to me as a player and a DM.

    New to d20 Modern

I just picked up d20 Modern, and am very interested in it. I jsut have a few questions: 1. How compatible is it with the 3.5e stuff? 2. Can I use monsters from the Monster Manual in my adventures? 3. Could I use, say, the races books or environment books? 4. Can my players run a DND...
