    Concerned About Character Creation

What are you talkin' aboot? This is an RPG, rumors are ALWAYS true!

Different classes still get different HP: why?

Well, the Fighter has more health because they have more practice getting hit. Take an MMA fighter and a college professor. Hit both in the stomache repeatedly. Which goes down first?

    Damage Scaling

It's too arbitrary to let the PC's do it, but not the NPC's. Couldn't they have just given it to the Monsters, and given them less base damage? Would be much simpler than giving it only to the PC's arbitrarily. I'm sure abilities will make up for the disparity.

    Magical items

One simple fix for a lot of problems would be to have an extra-planar Magic Item McDonalds.

I think Barbarians should be strikers, or maybe even controllers

It's more of a wording thing than an actual in-game thing. The fact that everyone has a clearly defined role, using a single word, kind of annoys me a tiny little bit. This'd fix it right up, I'm fine with the PHB being clearly defined, then things messing up.

I think Barbarians should be strikers, or maybe even controllers

I can totally see a Barbarian as a two-threat character. Druid too, even Bard! Bard: Controller/Leader (maybe ;x) Barbarian: Striker/Defender Druid: Controller/Leader This one role thing will get boring if every single class sticks to it, and those ^ ones were all multi-threat classes anyways.

Implication of choosing powers from another class's list

The clear answer is a loud and resounding maybe! Useless conjecture for now, it's entirely possible it's a Warlock thing, or anyone can do it but Half-Elves are better at it, or any number of other possibilies.

Anyone else notice the weirdness about Defenses?

Alright, let's compare. Fortitute save: 1/2 level + con/str, +2 if fighter or +1 if paladin (probably). Reflex save: 1/2 level + int/dex + shield, +2 if rogue or +1 if ranger (probably). Will save: 1/2 level + cha/wis, +2 if wizard/warlock, +1 if paladin (probably). AC: 1/2 level + dex + armor...

    Quickstart rules from D&DExp

Gasp. I love all of it <3 Well, that Saving Throw thing is a bit weird, depending on how hard it is to effect - but I guess it makes sense that things don't last quite as long as they do in 3.5, a lot of things are ridiculous.

Getting Things as a Class Skill (Heal)

Because I need a feat at level 7. So either Wizard 5 or Human Paragon 2.

Getting Things as a Class Skill (Heal)

Human Paragon 2. I'd rather not lose caster levels, hence wanting to replace Human paragon, and the only Wizard prestige class I've seen that gives Heal is a class skill is Blood Magus (and, well, Fleshgrafter).

Getting Things as a Class Skill (Heal)

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to get into Fleshwarper as quickly as possible. I need Graft Flesh (Item Creation) before level 8 (so at level 7, earliest and latest). It requires 10 ranks in Heal to get. The best way I've found so far is Wizard 5/Human Paragon 2, putting basically all the...

Why are they keeping ability scores?

Well, then 10 wouldn't be average anymore, 0 would be, wouldn't it?

The Tielfling and The Gnome: On the Set of 4th edition

Funny, I love both Gnomes and Kobolds, though Garl Glittergold is not a very nice Neutral Good God. It is true though, Gnomes have never been incredibly popular, with things like Grey Elves running around, and as someone playing a Kobold Wizard, I don't believe putting htem in the MM really...

    Chronomancer update?

I believe it's in the Expanded Psionics Handbook, or Complete Psionics

Using Companion Guard Style with Insightful Strike

Um, for one thing, the feat isn't weapon finesse, so you still need a light weapon (or rapier, whip, or spiked chain). For another, the difference between a Longsword and a Shortsword is literally 1 damage. One point of damage per swing. I would personally use a Rapier over a Longsword, even...

Playable character without magic items: possible ?

Actually, you can do some cool stuff with Vow of Poverty: Illumian Sorceror 4/Paladin 2/Monk 1/Apostle of Peace 2/Mystic Theurge 10/Monk +1 (2) (take Ascetic Mage). You get all the power words, level 7 Arcane spells, leve 9 divinel spells (with a caster level of 19), cha to saves, cha to AC...

Voluntarily failing saves when spellcasters lie

My thoughts exactly. Don't accept Enlarge Person from people you don't trust absolutely :P

    Abdurant champion and mage armour?

Just a quick note - that would mean the class adds 10 AC in a 5-level prestige class with full bab, d10s, and full caster progression. The class is DEFINATELY strong enough without it.
