I love Greyhawk but leave it alone. It doesn't deserve the 4e treatment. No respectable setting does.

Much of the OP's thoughts ring true. As a 29 year veteran of the game, I too have come to the end of a long and glorious road. Let the young ones with their encounter powers grab for that brass ring. I need a break. A very long, 4e-free sabbatical.

Wotc played chicken with the 3rd party publishers and lost.

700 votes later, the numbers hold up, and everything Wotc says these days seems overly confident... Read the reviews for 4e on Amazon. Now compare them to reviews for 3e. Speaks volumes.

My creativity isn't working today and I need help. What are some uses for this spell? If single round effects don't hurt targets during a time stop, what can I do to make things hard for an opponent?

"...decided to spend" sounds an awful lot like "...that's all we could scrape up." The timing of 4e is a gamble. The community didn't clamor for it. They want to soft-sell a new edition this way? Doesn't bode well. At all. Lottsa luck, Wizards. I'm happy with 3.5

Played 1e many years ago. Came back for 3e/3.5, which I like quite a bit. And that's where me and my mates make our stand. Got too many other things to pay for in this life. New editions of a game I already love ain't one of them.

Shipping rates are a reality when buying online. Best to bid on multiple auctions from one seller. I don't buy that many of these things anymore, so a bit more never kills me.

Having invested in these things from the beginning (that is, Harbinger), I've got practically all the minis I'll ever need, so unless they start putting out AMAZING sculpts or common umber hulks, I seriously doubt I'll be spending any more cash on these things. I have a killer set, though, so...
