    D&D 4E Early Days of 4e will be a Gearhead's Paradise

Exactly, and there is no reason why both types cant be played in the same campaign if there is interest to do so. "The druids from the southland work this way, but the ones from the north work like the description in the PHB II."

    WotC_Dave: Druid!

This is the only way that I can see it being balanced... you would be a striker while in animal form, and a controller in your normal form, with spells primarily only available in your normal form. It is probably very likely that the Druid builds would be split between one that enchances wild...

    D&D 4E Conversion: 3.x to 4e

I think the most difficult part of this will be the shift from "3.X challenge rating being based on Party vs. Single Monster" to "4E challenge rating being based on Party vs. 4-6 monsters." You will likely have to rebuild many of the encounters from ground up... this is supposed to be easier to...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Healing Surges in 3.5

If you are leaving Cure Wounds spells as is, then I would be wary to implement healing surges into your current game, or if you do drastically limit the amount of times that they can be done. If you are tying the Cure Wounds spells to surges as they do in 4E, then thats a different matter...

    D&D 4E Conversion: 3.x to 4e

What I'm planning is some retconning of my homebrew campaign world to match some of the new elements that I would like to introduce from 4E (for example, tieflings and dragonborn are not in my world at all, but some of the stuff WOTC has released has inspired me to add them in my own particular...

    D&D 4E Early Days of 4e will be a Gearhead's Paradise

I agree 100%, and I already have ideas floating around for a light-armored defender type class that arises from one of the indigenous elf nations in my homebrew campaign. I think that 4E will provide a great opportunity for tinkering, and I for one am looking forward to it! :D

D&D 4E What place does dual wielding have in 4E?

Not if he/she is a hill giant!

D&D 4E What place does dual wielding have in 4E?

I dont think that I could have come up with a more simple solution to allowing two weapon fighting, though it seems like such an obvious fix now that I have read it! (Though I do object to limiting it only to a ranger power) I love a lot of the suggestions made in this thread, keep them coming!

D&D 4E 4e Contest: Prove Nate Right - Power Attack Entry Finalists - You help decide winners

My hope is that the fact that A.) does not provide any bonus for one handed weapons (or natural weapons, as Pinotage pointed out) is an accidental ommision. If so, that is by far the best option in my book... if not, then it needs some work.

    Consistent parts of speech

DM Morton is the subject of my sentence... and what the predicate says, he does.

    Rules clarifications

I'm also thinking of throwing a bone to players who have a particularly good knowledge check result in my campaigns... instead of a special attack, a warlock might know that this particular breed of kobold is known to be "weak-willed". Will have to see the full rules before a make a decision on...

    Rodney Thompson on Multiclassing

I think the hidden gem in this post is his description of what appears to be heavy role-playing going on in his playtest campaign... somewhat of a blow against the idea that 4E somehow dicourages such a play-style. :)

D&D 4E What place does dual wielding have in 4E?

Hmm, very interesting, and it seems to contradict what I was saying in my last post (in regards to Rangers being primary ranged attackers.)

D&D 4E What place does dual wielding have in 4E?

I actually wonder about this, as everything I have seen on Rangers so far seems to point to them being the "consummate archer", so I wouldn't be surprised if Rangers had little in the way of melee abilities. Of course, the ranger presented in DDXP may have been more of an archer build, and that...

D&D 4E What place does dual wielding have in 4E?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone seen word from the developers or playtesters regarding what impact dual wielding will have on fourth edition? Some character archetypes are commonly envisioned as using a weapon in each hand, as opposed to a two-hander or sword & shield. I'm wondering what kind...

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

I for one dont see why either is a problem (boycotting WOTC or boycotting Paizo)... as a consumer, what other method do you have of protesting a business decision than to withold your dollar?

    Summoning spells... rituals?

Would you stop stealing the names of the BBEGs I use in my campaign, GAWD!

    Summoning spells... rituals?

From what we have seen so far Im wondering if there will even be easily castable summoning spells... If there are, I will be curious as to exactly how they balance things. I'm half wondering if they will save that for a 'Summoner' role in the future...

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo Annoucement!

This is possible, though I have only anecdotal evidence to go on. Neither myself nor anyone in my gaming circle have ever heard of the pathfinder series. While we are familiar with some necromancer supplements and of course the magazines, we know little of Paizo as a business entity, much less...
