Can anyone recommend any good 4e or non-old school blogs?

I think you'll enjoy the two listed in my signature. Let me know. Cheers,

Has it really been 30 years?

So today is my 41st birthday, which means I've now been roleplaying for 30 years exactly. I was lucky enough to get some money in a birthday card so I'm heading off to Leisure Games to buy the new Monster Manual. Which is exactly what I did in 1979. You know what? I love D&D.

A radical solution for dealing with 4e grind - halve ALL HP

My solution (and it's pure theory at the moment) is to do as you say and halve monster hp, but in a different way. When they get to Bloodied, they become a minion. Requires zero book keeping. Allows for Bloodied effects to still go off, and death effects too. They are still a threat unless...

    Fey vs Shadow

My fave bit of the DMG? 'A DMs job is not to be original, its to entertain.'

    Fey vs Shadow

In my game, they aren't seperate planes exactly, they are geographically part of the world. Its all about territory really. However, your question is one that I want to answer in game, probably at the end of the heroic tier. Then its about picking sides, then about prosecution.

    Fey vs Shadow

Cool. Good to see there's no obvious answer to the question. Looks like the PCs will be the catalysts, and that's exactly what I wanted...

    Fey vs Shadow

I'm planning out a new campaign. In essence it comes down to this: The Feywild and the Shadowfell go to war. I'm going to take 30 levels to get to the end of this story, but you don't have to. Who wins? and why?

    GTS 2009 D&D Seminar - the Rouse discusses D&D

I'd love to hear a little bit more about that disconnect. I'm reviewing the whole of Scales of War over at my 'blog , so rather than sidetrack this thread, please feel free to drop by and comment. Thanks, carry on!

    Who is Brandon Daggerhart?

And why does he get thanks in nearly every WotC 4e credits page?

D&D 4E; Official Supplements & Modules You'd Like to See

Something that has all the tiles and minis in the box, three poster maps too. I'd like to see the adventure make use of rituals, artifacts and minions. Not fussed about the tier. If we have to revisit old scenarios, I'll plump for Desert of Desolation please.

4e modules and lack of empty space

I wish. I've got one of each set and I still can't make the maps I need to...

    Dragon 370 - Invoker Preview

Is it just me or is the picture they've used... Kang the Conqueror?

4e modules and lack of empty space

Have you looked at H2? It's wide open! You basically have a city-state to play in, of which 3 parts are fully mapped out. what else could you need? If you want somewhere to rest, then clear out some rooms. Lord knows there's enough empty barracks now my group have been through the dungeons...

The Elfish Gene - Another attack on gamers

Took quite a few outraged posts before we got to anyone who'd actually read it... :) I have read it, and although I enjoyed it immensely, I did get the feeling that the author rather regrets his gaming past. That's a little sad.

    Oooooh Monster Descriptions...

When I started out with 4e I really wanted a little help with monster descriptions. I never upgraded my MM form 3 to 3.5 but often wished I had because of the neat 'what the characters see' fluff. To be honest, with some monsters I was at a loss with what their powers were meant to represent...

Where Has All the Magic Gone?

This argument has been going on for the entirety of D&Ds lifetime and the answer is always the same: the magic happens at your table, not in the books. However, there is mechanical support for more flavour in your items in 4e: Artifacts. I'd love to see a whole book of these, including loads...

    layoffs?

Can anyone tell me what products have had Johnathan Tweet's design credits on them in the last couple of years? Genuinely curious, and slightly out of the loop.
