    Does range "Touch" include self?

As someone's sig once aptly put it: "You know you're an exalted monk when you don't have to worry about violating your Vow of Chastity, because you can't make your own touch AC."

    Cybernetic's Dragonstar SAGA Thinktank

Just some ideas to help the process along: Favored Enemy Talent Tree (for Scout) Favored Enemy: Chose one type of creature as favored enemy (as per PHB). If you hit, do +2 extra damage. This talent can be taken 3 times. Each time you do, it applies to a different creature type. Master of...

    Need spell to prevent teleport

Yes, a very good spell for doing what the OP wanted. And if you're willing to flex a bit of creative DM powers, you can say someone has researched Lesser Forbiddence, that doesn't do any damage but still locks out teleportation. And is maybe even a bit cheaper.

    Obscure RPGs

Distant Suns (if I remember the name correctly) Where the Sol System went to war with the rest of the galaxy, and the rest of the galaxy --none too impressed-- set off a supernova inside Sol, wiping out most of humanity. The game takes place several hundred years after this war, when the rest...

    I got the saga edition

And can you imagine anyone actually saying that? (Except to annoy other players?) "I use Use the Force to throw the gernade back at the stormtroopers." or "I Use the Force to throw the gernade back at the stormtroopers." I know which version will be seen at my gaming table.

    OotS #459 (Wednesday)

I am too. ('Magic train' reference in an earlier strip seals the deal.) However... I heard somewhere (I can't remember where), that Wizards took the Deathless elves concept from Rich's campaign pitch (since he was one of the 3 finalists) and merged it with what was to become Eberron. Can...

    Dominate Person

Do I know you cast charm person on me? If yes, then that's probably a pretty heavy circumstance penalty on any future attitude checks.

    Creative Use of Low-level Magic.

Once, when an animal was using the 'grapple' effect to hold a character in its mouth (getting set up for a swallow whole), I cast prestidigitation on the character to make him 'taste bad.' Animal failed its save and *PETTEW!* spat the character out.

Monte Cooks WoD is for 3.5

Sounds like Urban Arcane mated with Shadownrun and done in d20.

[Star Wars] SECR Preview #5 is up

Possibility of more damage = lower chance to hit. Seems pretty logical to me. Game-wise. Yes, I know that's not the answer you're looking for, but some aspects of realism must be bloodily sacrificed upon the unholy altar of playability with the desecrated dagger of balance. And these rules...

[Star Wars] SECR Preview #5 is up

"Fear... anger... rules abuse... the path to the Dark Side are they."

[Star Wars] SECR Preview #5 is up

I think Aid Another will work well. I've seen characters in my D&D games use it to either help hit the target or attempt to save their hp, so I'm certainly someone who will use it. The fact that it works now with ranged weapons is reasonable if for no other reason than ranged weapons are a...

DM Tricks to Challenge Tough PCs with Weaker Enemies

If you know your front line fighters don't have Combat Reflexes (which many don't), then have one monster move up and provoke AoOs. Have him go total defence, or fight defensively. Or, if he's got a boat-load of hp, just suck it up and take the hits. Then have his buddy(ies) walk past the now...

    True Seeing questions

With True Seeing you pretty much remove any kind of magic that changes how something looks, or interferes with the clear vision of the person with True Seeing (up to 120 ft.). So if magic is causing something to look different/not be seen, True Seeing cancels it out for the person using True...

What else is arcane mark for?

While I can't speak for ElectricDragon, I think the idea here was to allow the spells to exist in the game, but set up a few more restrictions on them to make them less subject to player abuse. Ie: less Scry-buff-teleport if you've got to have your arcane mark at a location, but it will still...

What else is arcane mark for?

In my games I have a number of small magic items that are triggered/keyed only by people with the appropriate arcane mark on their person. The secret police use it to identify themselves. They have a small disk that only glows when it is held in the hand of someone with the appropriate mark...

    Castle Defenses

If I can think of it, (or has been used in a previous game) the castle defenders should have thought of it, or read about it in the histories of their world's military warfare. It may be a REALLY GOOD PLAN, but in my worlds' its also, A PLAN THAT'S BEEN DONE BY THE PLAYERS (playing different...

    Your opinion on a call

Relevant rules on the mimic from the SRD: Mimic Shape (Ex) A mimic can assume the general shape of any object that fills roughly 150 cubic feet (5 feet by 5 feet by 6 feet), such as a massive chest, a stout bed, or a wide door frame. The creature cannot substantially alter its size, though. A...

    Castle Defenses

I got no problems with workarounds. What I want to see is: Players: Attacking a castle is easy. I don't know why anyone builds them. We cast ABC. Me (the DM): [checks notes] Turns out they thought of that long ago. Your magic ABC is met by magic XYZ and countered. Players: *&%#!! Okay...

    Castle Defenses

I did say magic defenses were at a "reduced cost", but I also said "preferably low level magic." I could shift the whole castle into the etheral plane if we're going that far. But I'm not. I'm looking for simple, reasonable defenses that offer players the chance to be effective, not simply...
