You could probably have saved some hair and not had to give up on the player by not doing it later. Why not just say when they're discussing sneaking up, "You know, your character can go invisible, which means the giants won't see you?" It would make more sense to remind the player when...
Thankfully, all done with. Which means I get to focus on all the Ph.D. work and paperwork in general that I need to do before I can leave here for the summer.
But I've got started on the next update and am halfway through it. We played today and hope to play again next weekend before I leave...
Damn! Now you tell me!
I'm going to be getting about 100+ papers on Monday :(
And my new girlfriend is killing me ;)
Even if they had been completely prepared, it would have been a very tough fight, with the odds likely on the dragon's side. With them on heavily depleted resources, they had...
I'm currently playing a gnome beguiler in a Shackled City game, where I joined at 10th level and he's currently 15th. I play the character as a midget Napoleon, functioning as the tactical linchpin of the group, strengthening allies, weakening enemies, and keeping the PCs working like a...
Fire away. And blame the delays on my students. They keep wanting me to grade papers and show up to class for some reason!
:D
Hey, everything's strange in my campaign!
Thanks for the catch, BTW. Poor Rackhir was down with some health issues (he's better now) so I didn't have my trusty...
As indicated by frankthedm and Piratecat above, I think that's fairly silly nitpicking on your part, and very arbitrary to boot. Why shield bash and armor spike attacks only? Why not cover what happens when an ally tries to use a touch spell on you? And what about how much acid damage it does if...
There is no wall at the bottom, but there is one midway up the tunnel, and an unusual one at that. A hundred feet or so below the surface, Nameless’ eyes widen as his arcane sight suddenly picks up an aura of abjuration extending all the way across the shaft. A wall of Dispel Magic...
And, like clockwork, I have an update for you :)

The Guardian Angels soar through the air above the Shadowland, the broken tundra unrolling swiftly beneath them. The area is superficially similar to the Mournland with a sky full of low-hanging storm clouds, which makes...
Damn! Um ... er ... maybe during the summer break?
Actually, since I'm likely going to be off in India during the summer and getting no tabletop gaming in my system (which also means not spending time on my story hour), this one may get a little more time. May.
I've had an alienist in my 3 yr long Eberron campaign (from 3rd to 15th lvl) and I house-ruled away the above. It made the PrC much more viable without causing any problems whatsoever.
Short answer: No
Longer answer: Resistance/immunity to fire has nothing to do with a vampire's sunlight susceptibility. A vampire with a Resist/Protection from Energy (Fire) spell up is still toast if in the sunlight for long enough. So having fire immunity doesn't protect the creature from...
Sounds to me like you're being way easy on your PCs. Here's a situation that actually happened in my game. Four 11th level PCs (all very buff, with especially high stats and wealth equivalent to that recommended for 13th level characters) attack a Daask drug den for sh*ts and giggles. This Daask...
Never happens to me. Mainly because I'm the kind of rules lawyer who's often reminding the DM, "Hey, did you forget Rule A, Clause B, and exception C, all of which combine to hose our PCs?" It's damn good for my DMs, of course, but hell on my group.
Ah, I see what you're doing!
*flips out and beats Vorput with a stick, which has a surprisingly Hong-shaped indentation in it*
Actually, the players decided that they should name him Pookie. Sadly, they couldn't take Pookie with them, so he's running somewhere through the Shadowlands right...
One more vote for dropping XP, or at least divorcing XP awards from in-game stuff (combat, roleplaying, you name it) as much as one possibly can. That's one of the best decisions I made in my game.
