D&D General Palace of the Silver Princess orange cover stating bid $1 now $4000.

You more likely ran the reworked adventure with the green cover. It's much easier to find.

D&D General Alternate Stats for Initiative [+]

How about this: Decouple it from stats entirely. Make it a skill that can be trained by anyone. Expertise and Jack of All Trades may apply. Maybe add a homebrewed "improved initiative" feat for extra bonuses. (I haven't read the whole thread, so apologies if this has already been suggested.)...

    D&D (2024) Uncommon items - actually common?

I kinda feel like "uncommon" is more of a guideline to how NPCs should react to these items, rather than how many PCs should expect to get them. Like, "Ooh, you don't see those every day!"

D&D (2024) Will we see another Magic: The Gathering setting in Duskmourn?

Still, how many MtG-based horror settings can D&D realistically sustain in terms of official publications?

D&D (2024) Will we see another Magic: The Gathering setting in Duskmourn?

Wouldn't there be too much overlap with Innistrad, which already has a D&D conversion?

D&D 5E So, I kind of want to stay with 2014 rules. What are my longterm options?

Why houserule 2024 instead of just keeping 2014, as the OP plans to do?

Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd Cover, Synopsis Revealed

But ... but the characters apart from the token human are an orc, a tiefling, and a drow! That's DARK and EDGY!

D&D General Making a Pizza in a Fantasy world.

The antecedents of pizza go back to ancient Rome, so I don't have a problem with pizza in a fantasy world.

The Legend of Vox Machina Renewed for Fourth Season

They did it, and they ruined it. Carnival Row broke my heart.

D&D General wait what is arcane magic anyway?

    Not if they're singers.

    D&D (2024) Suggestions for level 1 one-shot.

Another vote for the barbarian. Sounds like you have a strong personality concept, which is important because you can "hit the ground running" in roleplay terms. The warlock sounds like a fun character for a longer campaign, where you could get more use out of your "pokemon."

D&D 5E One shot for new dm

I'm a bit late to the party, but: the Filbar setting has a bunch of free scenarios, including some that are explicitly designed for two PCs. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/publisher/5839/adventures-in-filbar Pay special attention to the adventures whose titles start with "OP"--they are...

D&D General wait what is arcane magic anyway?

It depends a lot on your setting. Are you running your game in the Forgotten Realms, a homebrew setting, or somewhere else?

    D&D (2024) Flanking no more in D&D 2024?

In my experience, the monsters are typically grouped in small clumps and the PCs are tightly clustered when the attack begins. Therefore, it's easier and faster for the players to set up flanking than for the monsters. So I would guess this approach is likely to lead to flanking being used by...

    D&D (2024) Flanking no more in D&D 2024?

I get the principle, but it doesn't usually work out tactically. Either there's no better place for the monsters to go, or there's physically nowhere for them to stand. I run for large groups, usually 6-8 PCs plus their various summons, and especially on premade maps, it can be a challenge to...

    D&D (2024) Flanking no more in D&D 2024?

I like flanking because it gives my players incentive to actually move their goshdarned PCs around instead of all bunching up in doorways. It does make advantage rather cheap, but I prefer that to running doorway fights, which make me want to tear my hair. Also, I can (and frequently do) have...

D&D General Would you buy an AI-generated Castle Greyhawk "by" Gary Gygax?" Should you?

I'd read if it if was free. I don't think I'd pay money for it.
