For sure, there are exceptions. But when you look at the big budget ones like RoP and Wheel of Time, well, those are pretty big blemishes. If they did a D&D animated show similar to VM, it might be fine. But a live action one? I remain very skeptical.

Amazon doesn't have the best track record for tv series, especially fantasy ones. Rings of Power is one big expensive stinker of a show.

The war that WotC started you mean? This is just WotC/Hasbro throwing money at 3rd party publishers in an effort to attract more subs to their DDB portal.

I think the draw here is compatibility. You get the adventure, setting, and rules for the game all in one box. If you don't want to use their rules, there are dozens of other OSR games and B/X/AD&D clones you can use instead with almost no conversion work required.

As an owner of this boxed set, I am biased, but this is one of the most beautiful games I have on my shelf. I'm desperately hoping my friends will at least let me bust this out for a one shot.

The production values seem very high as well. Very nice art, clear layout, and the game's already in Beta, with a delivery date of December (conservatively).

Nimble looks really cool. Kind of a less crunchy DC20 game. The boxed set is incredible value.
