Why is this in the dragon discussion?

I've come to the conclusion that the monk should be a melee controller. That would give them a role distinct from the barbarian or fighter. Their abilities should be about forced movement and decreasing options for opponents. Yes, they need to do damage, but if we want them to be different than...

I wish legendary actions were more solo actions and were on a lot more monsters. Glad lair actions are in one statblock now!

The rules aren't in the GM guide.... The monsters are definitely more interesting in play. You can get a feel by downloading the free preview for their current KS for the next monster book. I have not used the classes in play.

I've n been a DM for over forty years. I've never used monster creation rules. I just take existing monsters and redo them. I wonder what WotC research says about how DMs create monsters? In any event, this topic is beat to death.... So I'll likely not post on it again any time soon

Build it off and existing monster. I don't get why anyone would look at anything other than existing monsters and start there. The rules are confusing. The implementation is right there, easy to see.

You didn't need digital to play 4e. Any more than 5e. I will likely but this in hard copy, but I'm selling most of my other hard copy monster books so maybe not. I do like paging thru them....

Gear should be under treasure. I don't want to look two places for that. Combat blocks should be simple, and only have combat stuff in them. Everything else can have a place outside that. /Rant The art looks great. I will have the digital version, unsure on the print version. Already regretting...
