    D&D 5E (2014) Revising Classic Settings

Originally, it was D&D without dungeons or dragons. It was something radically different from the familiar tropes and, in fact, flipped the majority of tropes. Burly bearded dwarven barbarians with battleaxes? Dwarves have no hair and steel weapons are rare. Spellcasters wielding spells? The...

    D&D 5E (2014) Revising Classic Settings

Huh. That legit sounds like a fun setting. Like, the way you put it legit makes me want to know more about that setting. WOTC should hire you to write copy for them.

Newt was not a survivor of the Sulaco. She drowned in cryosleep. Her lungs were filled with fluid. Ergo, she drowned.

D&D 5E (2014) Are we at, or close, to peak D&D? Again?

My money is on C rather than B. D&D is going the way of baseball cards, not video games.

    Marvel vs DC

The Palladium is now an NYU dorm and CBGB's is a John Varvatos boutique. Pretty much sums up the state of the city.

    The Suicide Squad 2021

Looking at Ayer's IMDB, he's currently slated to direct Bright 2. So it looks like he's squandered any reputational goodwill he had from Training Day and End of Watch. Also, maybe filmmakers who focus almost exclusively on cop dramas shouldn't do "wacky" comic book movies.

Do you modify/write-in your game books?

Hardback books? Hell no. Paperback modules? Yep.

You know what I want to see? An Amalgam Comics crossover event that ends with Superman punching Mephisto.

D&D General Are lockpicking tools legal in your fantasy world?

The better question is "Why would a law banning thieves' tools exist? What is its purpose?" The answer is probably not "to outlaw thieves' tools." Real-life parallel: In several jurisdictions, even possession of drug paraphernalia is illegal. Why? To reduce drug use or possession? No. It's to...

D&D 5E (2014) WizKids Announces Largest Tiamat Miniature Ever

While I appreciate the scale given, this just raises more questions. What is Tiamat's soda of choice? Coke? Dr. Pepper? She is lawful evil, so, in theory, that rules out either New Coke or Crystal Pepsi. Wouldn't Tiamat need five cans of soda? Does Tiamat even drink "soda"? Given that D&D...

    How Quickly Do You Read?

At least a month, if not a year. I have a day job, a marriage, two small children, and existing friend and family commitments.

    Mundanity for Adventure/Campaign Inspiration

That would actually be a great way to start off low-level characters. I imagine that there could be an adventuring season for just the standard run-of-the-mill person who doesn't have a grimdark origin story. Like, there's the planting and the plowing and the harvesting. But there are also...

    Falcon and winter solider

I'm sure that there's a quick release strap. Of course, then you fall to your death, making it about as useful as the ejector seats in COBRA helicopters.

D&D General Things That Bug You

Making it worse, the Zhentarim have blocked any and all attempts at rational magic weapon legislation. Any schmuck with 500gp can just stroll into any magic shoppe and buy a +1 longsword without anyone checking to make sure that he isn't just some murderhobo.

D&D General Things That Bug You

Why would you walk or ride a horse from Neverwinter to Waterdeep? Ships exist in D&D and are faster.

D&D General Things That Bug You

IRL a horse can reliably carry a rider who weighs a fifth of what it weighs. So odds are pretty good that it's better suited for either carrying the load while you walk beside it or for pulling a cart, which also increases carrying capacity but not speed.
