I just read the new, updated one and enjoyed it a great deal. I liked Johnson's book as well.

I don't blame her. I try to keep people's politics separate from their game stuff, when/if it comes up. Not always easy.

Can you accept the possibility that some people just don't like the new stuff? That they think all, or even some, of the changes aren't good?

I'm reading through the rulebook now for the first time (it's lovely). I am seeing a lot of Dungeon Crawl Classics DNA for sure. It seems like a simple, but elegant, system for a fun TTRPG. Also, the person who made is just...nice. Like, a nice human. Glad I grabbed it!

FR5 The Savage Frontier (TSR 1988). I read this to tatters when I was living in Maine and experiencing deep northern winter. It is still my favorite supplement. The cover art by Larry Elmore is incredible.

Howard's ability to evoke a sense of the weird is unparalleled, in my opinion. I have found his writing to be deeply immersive in a way that few others can match. I live in the Conan stories when I read them, which is why I read them again and again.

Conan enters the public domain in three years. I suspect there will be a lot of Conan RPG stuff coming out then. I might write some myself! Crom!

L1 is probably my favorite module of all time.

There were at least two new Conan novels published in the last few years, and there are several Conan comic books each month. Monolith Games has Conan board games, and--I believe--are creating another iteration of a TTRPG. I read Conan stories a few times a year. Crom laughs at your premise...
