D&D General Hasbro enters gambling deal using Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property

Neon Valley Studios “we are an independent global game studio creating innovative and fresh online gaming content that gives online players in non-US markets a modern Vegas experience.” I don’t think physical casino games is their business.

D&D General Hasbro enters gambling deal using Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property

https://globalgamblingnews.com/games-global-unveils-exciting-partnership-with-hasbro/ I am pretty sure this is aimed at exploiting teens (the fresh and exciting new demographic.) Teens and online only gambling mix like nitro and glycerin (lots of damages.)

    New generic contemporary/urban fantasy?

This reminds me of an idea I had. The supernatural are some of the super rich of the modern world (but not all of the super rich.) The conflict comes from eliminating those supernatural that are careless or foolish about their choices (and getting to role play super pampered and eccentric rich...

    New generic contemporary/urban fantasy?

Many systems are designed to be generic in their core books, but offer more setting related material in supplementary books.

Mainstream News Discovers D&D's Species Terminology Change

I am so tired of this debate and the conflict it causes. I am taking a third option. Not species or races but divine pseudo nodules on the protoplasm of realities.

ChatGPT writes ”Missed Opportunities in Generic Tabletop RPG Campaign Settings”

Inspired by your ChatGPT prompt I rewrote and expanded my original prompt Write an article “Missed opportunities in tabletop RPG campaign settings, the Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition Forgotten Realms and other Campaign Settings that fail but can be fixed with a little work.” Discuss the main...

ChatGPT writes ”Missed Opportunities in Generic Tabletop RPG Campaign Settings”

I like to poke ChatGPT and ask it really subjective questions. Sometimes it does okay. Sometimes it shows the limits of neural network text generation. I think several published or sometimes included adventures directly addressed these complaints. (Trying to fix the formatting is making things...

Dungeon World Gets New Owners, Second Edition Planned

While it is not high on my lists of desired Dungeon World 2 edition features, I want products built with DW2 compatibility to work well with a variety of recently made PbtA Fantasy games (something that is harder with DW1 products.) And I hope a lot of the really nice DW1 compatible products...

Dungeon World Gets New Owners, Second Edition Planned

Personally, I am interested in seeing what the creators of Chasing Adventure and Against the Odds can do with an established and respected rule system (even though the original rules have known issues.)

    Sword & Sorcery RPGs 2024

I stumbled upon Jaws of the Six Serpents by Serpents by Silver Branch Games, and Million-Colored Sun by Hex Games. I am curious what are these games like? JotSS is praised heavily in some reviews. I could not find much about MCS except that the free preview and play through were nice.

D&D General Dark Sun as a Hopepunk Setting

Time for the Bob the Builder campaign to fix the Sun. I wonder if a themed campaign based not on “the Doomed Realms” but instead “Saving the Dark Sun” could have serial numbers filled off enough.

D&D General Dark Sun as a Hopepunk Setting

I would be happier if the survey included ages and edition. My gut tells that a surprising number of younger players where playing Dark Sun + AD&D 2e because of its rules light and retro aesthetic.

    Sword & Sorcery RPGs 2024

I find Sword and Sorcery antagonists to be different than High Fantasy and Grimdark ones. How do the Sword and Sorcery RPGs handle making these characters appropriate? Is there really good advice in any of these books?
