D&D 5E (2024) What Spell Sage Advice (& Descriptions) are you afraid won't be "fixed"?

Jeremy should have kept up the position rather than caving to internet rules-lawyers less than a year into the game release. By releasing Sage Advice wotc legitimized and encouraged toxic rule-lawyers and set them up as a clear audience their products must cater to. D&D 2024 is clearly...

D&D 5E (2024) What Spell Sage Advice (& Descriptions) are you afraid won't be "fixed"?

Crawford's approach to 5e since 2015 has been empowering rules lawyers and clinging to the exact RAW instead of encouraging common sense and table rulings or clarifying design intent. D&D2024 will double down on this approach with Crawford instead of Mearls as the primary project lead.

    D&D 5E (2024) Ranger 2024 is a bigger joke than Ranger 2014:

I'd settle for spells provoking AoO's again at least.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: Feats/Backgrounds/Species

    I'm not referring to Ad&d, I mean with 5e.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #3: "New Paladin"

There's more to encounters than draining party resources and causing attrition. There's more to encounters than being tactically challenging. You can still make encounters interesting even if the party is doing less than one encounter per day.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #3: "New Paladin"

oneD&D is effectively a Patch for 5th ed. Sometimes, you favorite character in a patch gets nerfed. This is a good thing actually and it really doesn't matter if it makes you feel bad. The game is in a healthier spot with paladins being specifically weakened. The quality of the game is more...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: Feats/Backgrounds/Species

Sounds like the 8 Con wizard in this scenario should play as carefully as possible. It's not a nightmare for me as the DM if someone's character gets killed.

D&D General Defining "New School" Play (+)

D&D 3rd edition, specifically. Furthermore - ad&d and classic d&d becoming unavailable and supplanted by it in distribution. General focus on "character building", pushing of combat focus and encounter balance, and weakening of DM authority in favor of "the rules" and unified mechanics.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 D&D character sheet, what do you think?

unclear, but its not on the character sheet anymore - even on the other pages.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 D&D character sheet, what do you think?

It's really upsetting to me that traits, bonds, ideals, and flaws were removed from the character sheet. It was nice that 5e's sheet put actual Roleplaying information front and center, rather than having your sheet just be a page of numbers.

Pathfinder 2E Never give up on PF2

PF2E is significantly lighter than 3.X d&d and pf ever were. There are significantly less situational modifiers, bonus stacking, or spot rules. The Rules are 46 pages compared to 5e's 32 pages, and pathfinder 1E's 84 pages.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: Feats/Backgrounds/Species

The new approach to mixed species in 2024 seems objectively worse and honestly more offensive than anything from original 5e.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's the future of Xanathar and Tasha? (+)

Its very likely that they will stop making new print runs once they announce the first player options expansion book for 5.5e, which will most likely have most/all of the old content not in the PHB updated to the new format. I imagine they won't stop printing/selling before that point unless...
