Ressource management isn't a bad mechanic in itself.

I think a game should strive to make those the same things. It might not always been perfect but it should be the goal. In any case, you shouldn't excuse bad mechanics just because they're fun.

I never called Monk players stupid. It's not white rooming, it is my own frustrating experience with the Monk that turned me off. I even had busted rolled stats and I still felt like I was not contributing like the rest of the party.

It doesn't even transform. I think Guardian of Nature was actually the spell that was meant to replace the ENTIRE Warden class... and it's a bloody 4th level spell that only covers two Spirits. That's level 13 for a Ranger to badly pretend to be a Warden. I think it fits the Barbarian way...

Again, defensive options don't advance the game state, it doesn't make you win the encounter. It's a stupid design for a limited resource and Monk shouldn't have to rely on it to get baseline toughness.

Don't forget the Rogue can do all their damage at range so they don't risk as much as a monk does in melee (where they need to be to use their bonus attack). The Monk should just get the Mobility feat. I meant in the movie.
