    D&D 5E (2024) Rules that annoy you

I'm personally not a fan of the pick and choose style of multi classing where you just GET the level. Are Warlock even tied up to their patron anyway? The rules as is are pretty loose when it comes to PC obligations.

    D&D 5E (2024) Rules that annoy you

The worst I’ve seen in 5e is the Clay Golem. For reasons that go unexplained (justified by nothing but legacy), when a Clay Golem damages you your maximum HP also goes down! Punishing the tank of the party for doing their job and taking away part of their class feature. How do you cure this...

Remove Curse is the major culprit in both our scenarios. Or Greater Restoration.

    D&D 5E (2024) Rules that annoy you

When something can only be countered or cured by a specific spell. I hate it. The spell should just be the easy way out, but a hard way should always be possible.

What game(s) handles pets and summons the best?

Well 4e also had a Beastmaster, in Martial Power, and the Shaman, but I don't recall a class the specifically summoned Minions (the 1 HP kind) but I don't know all the summoning powers.

What game(s) handles pets and summons the best?

In Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced the summons are just bigger AoE :p I'm also a big fan of how Golden Sun handles its summons, it's a really cool system. Any TTRPG uses that type of summons? You're right that sometimes you need to take a step back from trying to simulate something and...

Canada's History is intrinsically linked to the History of transportation and long distance communication.

What game(s) handles pets and summons the best?

A few years back, after the conclusion of a game of Cartoon Action Hour, a friend expressed interest in playing a Pokémon TTRPG and I looked around at the various fan efforts out there, and it was DIRE. They all had the same flaw: an obsession with reproducing the game mechanics of the video...

    Canada Worldbuilding

I think an underrated aspect is the importance of transportation. Canada was first settled by following its mighty water ways, braving rivers in bark canoes. Then came the land roads as horses became more common and people continued westward in the planes in wagons and making their ways...

What game(s) handles pets and summons the best?

I've made it known I'm not a big fan of 'pet classes', classes with animal companions or summons. To me, they bog down the game, either make the character and their pet way too weak without the other OR break the action economy and give players too much of an advantage. I played a Shepperd Druid...

    D&D 5E (2024) So Class Complexity...

But the new Cleric has either a weapon or caster play style AND has Channel Divinity... by those criteria shouldn't it be high like the Warlock?

A Golfling, slightly taller than a lilliputtian. Voted 'Most Likely to Become a Wereweasel' at graduation.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Cleric"

It looks quite good yes, it wasn't posted when I made my comment. I was just thinking you could make a War Cleric out of any domain by picking the heavy armour and weapon versions (like Kord is War+Storm so you could pick Domain of Storm). But I'm not opposed to it. I wonder if they chose the...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Cleric"

Nice that they went for a Mix-and-Match approach. I still don't know if 'War' is a good pick but whatever. I think this all sound like solid improvements to making the Cleric a better supporter.

Seems like they cut down on the pointless ribbons. Did they take away proficiency in all saves?

    Best crafting rules?

I'm not quite sure either what people want, but in my mind a crafting system should be in the service of your character obtaining new options. If I want to play an economic game I can play a great board game.
