For me, the continued usability of 1.0(a) for future NEW content is the heart of the matter. Substantial parts of the OSR depend on it. If they don't back off from that, all the rest is just smoke and mirrors.

Yes. Keep 1.0a as-is (with added "irrevocable" I would accept an 1.0b) for those us of that want to stick to the OSR, or create content for discontinued editions up to and including 5E, and offer a MASSIVELY SCALED-BACK 1.1 for use with OneD&D and up.

For me —and this is really just my hope— is that 1.0a is maintained, or rather updated to include "irrevocable", and that OSR- and Indie-folks can continue doing what they do, with full assurance that they can never be bothered legally by this from here on to eternity. Whatever happens to ≥5E...
