The last D&D tweet goes well with that too.

Hello, I am lawyer with a PSA: almost everyone is wrong about the OGL and SRD. Clearing up confusion.

But 1.0 and 1.0(a) are TWO DISTINCT versions of the license.

Hello, I am lawyer with a PSA: almost everyone is wrong about the OGL and SRD. Clearing up confusion.

....by the way, the leaked document only mentions OGL 1.0(a) as being unauthorized. No mention of OGL 1.0 (not "a") A possible loophole for OSR creators? [emoji848]

Would you have complained about the meme at all if it had said beer in the first place?

    Battlezoo Shares The OGL v1.1

Someone who knows (the history of) the game should know the name(s). No need to spell them out. I guess the joke just happens to work on several levels. Is one not allowed to point out facts just because said facts might be percieved as inconvenient purely by coincidence? Lorraine Williams is...

    Battlezoo Shares The OGL v1.1

Hey, it's just convenient because both are called "Willams". If one, or both people had been male, the joke would still work.

Hello, I am lawyer with a PSA: almost everyone is wrong about the OGL and SRD. Clearing up confusion.

It's a principle of common law: "expressio unius est exclusio alterius"

Hello, I am lawyer with a PSA: almost everyone is wrong about the OGL and SRD. Clearing up confusion.

Yes, but 1.0 clearly STATES how it is revocable: by a breach of terms. And it clearly states that as the only way.

Hasbro/WotC and all those that sign on to 1.1 should be treated as pariahs and utterly shunned by the whole TTRPG community, yes.

WotC Ex D&D Beyond Staffers Criticize Relationship With WotC

"Perpetual growth" is the definition of cancer. It's unsustainable by definition.

Quotes from OGL 1.1 (via Linda Condega)

I still say that any publisher that has used OGL 1.0(a) up until now, and continues to do so without switching to 1.1 should be safe, because you cannot invalitate a valid license using a new license if said pybilisher does not adopt that license.

New OGL - what would be acceptable? (+)

I sure hope OneD&D fails. I really do. I hope it fails in such a way that D&D sinks into forgetfulness for a while, while people disperse to other games like PF, RuneQuest, Fate, TOR, etc... Eventually it will rise up from the ashes under a new team, like a phoenix. Empires rise and fall. It's...

New OGL - what would be acceptable? (+)

If there's anything Fantasy RPGs and literature have taught me, it's that monsters can be defeated.

The OGL -- Just What's Going On?

I sure hope so! To me, WotC/Hasbro is damaged goods now. Noatter what they do, backtrack, sue, appease, I am done with them.
  19. reelo

    So how do we respond?

Maybe (hopefully!) WotC/Hasbro/5E becomes unpopular enough in these parts that I can finally motivate people to try Mythras and/or The One Ring.
