TSR Problematic Faves and Early D&D

Very thorough analysis, though your one of your comparisons sticks out: the a) that a typical married woman is indistinguishable from a prostitute because as always if you assume a typical moral compass this goes both ways: Has a married woman to be pictured differently than a prostitute and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Help me build a high demand support/healer

Try a favored soul sorcerer eventually if your DM allows for it, combine with healer feat? Or a life cleric. Did not analyse this though, these are just the first things coming to my mind.

D&D 5E (2014) Clerics building temples to more than one god

That totally depends on what the pantheon / clerics are defined like, no? It would be acceptable if a cleric aids some other cleric in building the temple, if each god is of a similar alignment or maybe only differs by one step. Or maybe if clerics are just good / neutral/evil with no focus on...

    1. Did you forget the contribution nof the attribute behind skills? 2. D&D 5E (2014) Adding Psychic Glamour (Kalashtar question)

Although I play DDO for years now, my Eberron knowledge about Kalashtar is limited, since they are not featured prominently there. What I know about Kalashtar is, that they are considered to be natural seers and diviners, so they can look in the future and got, so to say, the second sight. The...

D&D General 4e Healing was the best D&D healing

although your homebrew sounds quite solid and has some appeal, i only use the hp are rather fatigue concept. there are game systems like dsa where the hp= blood, flesh and bones works closer to realism. d&d imho is better played with hp being pretty abstract an only the hit bringing you to zero...

D&D 5E (2014) BBEGs, the Book of Vile Darkness, and Good Acts

take the archetype of an artifact the one ring for a better understanding of the purpose and reasoning of an artefact. the ring tempts Frodo to wear it, even in situations he could reasonably solve without it. the book is the same. Oh theres a kitten to be saved, do it and afterwards bite its...

D&D 5E (2014) BBEGs, the Book of Vile Darkness, and Good Acts

and what people are suggesting is wrong, because the book does not differ. No cats saved except for diner, no soldier healed except to last longer under the torture for his failure in battle.

D&D 5E (2014) BBEGs, the Book of Vile Darkness, and Good Acts

nope it is not. The book of vile darkness is an artifact and as such it corrupts the owner. so what could be defined as reasonable, because it serves her goals, is not what the book would judge. It is only what you read into it but you are not utterly evil.

D&D 5E (2014) BBEGs, the Book of Vile Darkness, and Good Acts

since the book of vile darkness is the culmination of evil, the virtual embodiment of evil, she could not heal her soldier. Her soldier is a tool to her, his purpose is to get injured and, if needed, to die.
