March '09: What are you reading?

Needed to kill some time this weekend and did so with Kon-Tiki by Thor Heyerdahl. Great, quick read.

March '09: What are you reading?

My absolute favorite book. And it's fabulous as an audiobook...

    How Many Alts Have You?

No alts; it's all Eric all the time.

    DungeonaDay and d20srd.org

I should add... I don't think what Monte is doing is wrong; I do think it's a bit inconvenient. I have never DM'd from a book or straight from an SRD - I DM from stat blocks in an adventure when at all possible. If I were printing this all out, I would also feel the need to prepare stat blocks...

    DungeonaDay and d20srd.org

If d20srd.org didn't want people linking to them, they wouldn't be online. I don't see a problem with it.

    Monte Cook's new Dungeonaday.com?

I too received a free sneak peek and had a reaction similar to Piratecat's - fun, useful if you want to see a 3.5 dungeon develop over time, seems a bit pricy for what you get, easy to navigate. I don't know that I would feel comfortable actually running a dungeon when only some of the rooms...

STAR TREK by JJ Abrams - new photos

A lot of action in trailer 3. Still not sure on Kirk's casting. Definitely going to see it though.

    E6 -- I love it

I love the idea as I have never really loved levels 11+ in any edition of the game (at least as a DM). I might modify to make it E10 instead of E6. As it is I typically just run regular 3x campaigns through 10th level and end them there.

Finished up Watchmen. Not sure what's next. Listening to Fall of Hyperion audiobook.

    Who Will Watch the Watchmen?

I had never read it, was basically unaware of it until the movie ads started playing. And then after reading this thread I bought a copy and am a couple of "chapters" into it. I'm finding it very entertaining. I am not a comic book/graphic novel person in general (I can't think of one I have...

What are you doing with the money you aren't spending on gaming products?

Paizo gets a regular influx of RPG cash from me due to their subscription services. That's all I'm spending on RPGs these days. I really couldn't say where the "extra" money goes. I do feel like the hobby gets a little less entertaining for me as time goes on ... one group I was in...

    New Futurama Movie

Into the Wild Green Yonder, the last of the four straight-to-DVD Futurama movies came out on Tuesday. The timing of the release surprised me - it's great that it comes so close on the heels of the previous release - and so I thought I would alert fellow Futurama fans. I enjoyed it and am...

    RE: Reveille

I am one of his Facebook friends ... and there are a number of other Facebook friends of his here. How would you feel about us posting our get well wishes on his wall? I wouldn't want to alarm others who might be stopping by to see his page.

    [Trailer] S. Darko

*sigh* and now I have Beavis in my head saying, "Heh. Heh. I am Darkholio!"

    [Trailer] S. Darko

Loved the original (actually only saw the director's cut of the original, I'm told that makes it quite a bit more comprehensible).

Help me identify old sci fi show

Ah, so it was "biddi biddi" not "ribbi ribbi". Oh, ick, was that an awful, awful several minutes of my life. Thank you!

Help me identify old sci fi show

Ok, on my digital tuner box I get a channel that is 27.1. 27 is the local ABC affiliate, and presumably 27.1 is somehow related. However, where ever I go online to look at the TV lineup for that channel I see "programming unavailable." So I turn to you for help... Last night I saw the most...

    Fallout 3 - Today's the day!

I couldn't get it to run from the "hidden" location so I too had to move the files to the main Fallout 3 directory. Seems to work fine from there. Major pain though!
