    Should PCs Be Exceptional?

It was not unclear, so I reiterate my answer. I, personally, like both experiences, and do not have a general desire for one over the other. I specifically have a preference that both be part of my general experience. If I had a string of campaigns that were all one, I'd start wanting the other.

    Should PCs Be Exceptional?

Not just every campaign is different.... This is a genre choice. The main characters being "special" or just being normal people are specific tropes, used for various effects. Not all games should be the same genre, no.

Goodman Games: Our Efforts Have Been Mischaracterized

You seem to be trying to fit everything under a disparagement clause, which isn't appropriate. NDAs and disparagement clauses are different, and restrict different things. Their impact can depend a lot on exactly how they are worded. I don't claim he's clearly bound by such, just that they...

Goodman Games: Our Efforts Have Been Mischaracterized

NDAs and non-disparagement clauses are not exactly rare these days. But such may not be necessary. If there's a contract that compels him to make an attempt to publish, then saying, "I'm sorry folks, but I'm required by contract to try..." is arguably an attempt to tank the product, which...

Goodman Games: Our Efforts Have Been Mischaracterized

Well, Beldsaw's racism doesn't make a lot of sense either. People do a lot of things that don't make any freakin' sense, but we do them anyway.

Replacing the system in L5R: Social Rules

I believe Edge Studios has already done the work for you, and has done a D&D 5e version of Rokugan. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/380765/adventures-in-rokugan

D&D 5E (2014) Couple new Ideas, gauging interest

D&D's initiative mechanics make such coordination seem a bit difficult, such that I'd call those rituals you aren't doing in combat. Not that you can't work something out, but I'm not sure the combat time scale really needs the addition, and the Ritual-only space is kind of empty.

    Do You Care About Cosmology?

Not really. In RPG terms, "cosmology" is "how the universe is ordered." So, in D&D, that includes what a world is like, what all the various other planes are like, how they inter-relate, their interconections, and so on. It often includes some elements of how magic works, how gods operate...

Chaosium Names New CEO, Mike Mearls Departs Company

Yeah. Fantasy Flight is just the one to came to mind first, is all.

Yeah, but the world has several Lovecraftian games. Tough market, there. But, it does suggest - Asmodee probably has some interest in building RPGs of its more traditional games (Arkham Horror has been a campaign card game for a while now).

    Pace in your game.

That's the results of their INdecisons, which Stormonu, by his own statement, has no dominion over. :p

Jason Carl on White Wolf's Return, Mage: The Ascension Plans

The various games have historically had very different perspectives on the lore. Vampire: Oh, we are descendants of Cain, and so tortured are we... Werevolves: Screw that - you are creatures of the Wyrm, and I will gut you now!!!1!one!

The Fantastic Four: First Steps - Official Teaser Trailer (2025)

Or, maybe years passed in between their origin-story flight and going to the MCU, and it is a different ship in the same general style, because both are designed by Reed Richards? Maybe don't read too much into it.

Chaosium Names New CEO, Mike Mearls Departs Company

As I understand it, yes. And Warhammer moved to Cubicle 7. Yes. And Edge seems to have Star Wars (using the Fantasy Flight engine for it), L5R, Rokugan, and some other things. Mearls will probably say something on social media soon enough about what he's going to be working on.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps - Official Teaser Trailer (2025)

It probably means that they use a three-legged ship in the FF origin story, and a 4-legged ship later when they reach the rest of the MCU.

Fantasy Flight Games is a subsidiary of Asmodee, no? I could imagine Mearls being taken on to re-invigorate the RPG space of Asmodee.

    Pace in your game.

That sounds like it works out to to be about 2 days of in-game time per 3-hour session? That doesn't sound so bad, unless there are also long stretches of time you elide over for travel or recovery or something.

No Initiative Order: How Do You Do It?

I cannot, for the life of me, think of a TTRPG that does "lock you into combat".

No Initiative Order: How Do You Do It?

I think of it like error-handling. When the differences in task lengths are much shorter than the task lengths themselves , it doesn't really matter. In modern D&D combat, a round is like six seconds or so, and there is not much room for differences, so order matters. In my cleaning...
