D&D 5E (2024) Monster manual Fey video up

Interesting to hear that Bullywug are now fey Also the implication of a creature can now have multiple types, a kingdom of Elves ruled by a Fey Elf eite I was wondering how fey goblins would affect Barghest but this kinda addresses that. Iirc Mystara has Quoggoth as a type of bugbear, so fey...

Kahru looked over the maps orientating himself to the familiar landmarks, then tracing the path of the river from the Greyfalls up through the Sanctuary and in to the hills. He had explored across that range, using both his human senses and also those of the bear, the wolf and the hawk, each...

The Gith Are Now Aberrations in Dungeons & Dragons

From Latin Paene Ultimus = almost last :) Strangely enough the word Penult also exist to label the penultimate item in a series

For those who have embraced new systems/games, what was the deciding factor?

Went from Basic DnD to GURPs because of the awesome source books and more modularity, but both are complex systems (but not Rolemaster complicated). I came back to 3e because D20 v DC was nice and streamlined (and GURPs taught me to prefer Skill and Feat systems) Then discovered rules lite...

The Gith Are Now Aberrations in Dungeons & Dragons

Oh Im not complaining just observing that they may as well make elfs and gnomes fey, and dwarfs constructs, to the point that only Humans remain as Humanoids - do we need the category? and making all the changes just to nerf one spell would be dumb when they could just change the spell instead

One would start to think that Humanoid is redundant

D&D General Sandwiches should exist in your fantasy world!

You ever hear of salami? Pickled pork? corned beef? Brawn? A variety of preserved meats were eaten cold. Corned beef preserved in its own fat is a great sandwich topping

Well Waythe might be offended if we actually called her a trophy, but yup, she has her own place of honour amongst the treasures.

So I was thinking for the Trophy Room its a place to keep Waythe and any other magic treasures Kahru and others find. So the 'facts' could be stuff that Waythe would be aware of, from before Kahru took her from the Steading or anywhere in its history. Maybe info about who brewed any magic item...

I blame tieflings for sporks - only the spawn of Asmodeus could devise such a fiendish woe

The Romans were frying fish and battered fish was introduced to England by Portugese jews from the 16th century and was eaten with mushy peas until potato chips were introduced. So fish and chips may have been 19th century but fried fish and fried root vegetables are old

technically stew is cooked via braising the meat (slow cooking with moist heat) until it softens and breaks down, although liquid is used in the braising process it is not the key ingredient as it is in soups. Soups are simmered in liquid, making the liquid a vital ingredient to the dish. So...

Waythe was ecstatic when she heard the news "its about time we did something worthwhile!" the great sword asserted loudly inside his mind "you were starting to go soft!". Kahru could feel the passion of her bloodlust rising, so that he felt his own muscles tense and his heartrate rising eager...

D&D General Sandwiches should exist in your fantasy world!

I had an uncle that kept the same pot going for a year or so, he was eventually ordered by his sister to throw it out. He however seemed fine and if we were hungry, we'd pick stuff of the top layer, just be careful not to dig too deep. They had particularly strong stomachs before the invention...

    D&D 5E (2014) The "General Nature" of a Trap

then it should be +10 to perception checks or something (like Pass Without Trace works) I also see no reason why a rogue cant detect that a surface has been modified by a glyph of warding (its only nearly invisible) and Alarm is another spell I'd nix and make skill use instead

a few years ago, on this very site we had an amusing discussion about Italian Spaghetti as being derived from Chinese Noodles enhanced with Mexican Tomatoes and thus a fully international meal

Yes its a pizza - even moreso as Calzone is just a pizza thats been folded over (and thus also fits the Cornish pastie), and yeah dumplings and pies become evolutions of the same concept
