Effects of tariffs on game sales (e.g. US/Canada shipments) (No Politics!)

To approach this from a different angle, the word within the party (I am a long-serving campaign worker, manager, and PAC-server) is that as far as Canada is concerned, the tariff is a leverage chip, probably for greater border cooperation in terms of fentanyl and illegals. I have also heard...

What is Amazon’s beef with DCC?

    A much better choice. (y)

Legacy of Kain Is Getting a TTRPG

Borg systems are awful, but his settings, while crude and done in broad strokes, are compelling. I will likely use the Pirate setting (concept) in the future, with the obvious changes.

What is Amazon’s beef with DCC?

Man, this can be misinterpreted so many ways.... Especially when made by a masked guy. :D I would stay out of it. Amazon hedges its bets.

ENnies To Ban Generative AI From 2025

I fully support the use of AI, and eagerly await its improvements to the hobby.

How do you define character "weakness?"

I cant really that's a point I consider. I use systems that, at least IMO, require a considerable player input, so the result is solely the concern of the player. Players being over-powered is an issue with me, which is one of many reasons I don't play D&D.

I'm a little depressed, and I don't want to be the only one.

Since going on line, keeping a full table is child's place. In 2024 I gamed every week but one. I don't play D&D. I have ample time for all my hobbies, and my post-retirement career as an author. These are the best of times.

What is the education level (age) of your group(s)?

I'm retired, my group ranges across 30 years in age. Its never really come up, but I think we are evenly split between skilled trades and college degrees.

Shadowrun: How can they properly use Native Americans?

Not to mention the degree of infrastructure. The South's rail system was haphazard and insufficient, geared primarily for the movement of ag goods.. Winfield Scott anticipated the route to victory; it was his original plan, which he put in motion in 1861, that broke the CSA: naval blockade...

How important is it to you or your players for characters to feel "overpowered"?

I run low-power games. I have no interest in watching problem-solving by way of Talent X, or spell Y.

Shadowrun: How can they properly use Native Americans?

CP 2020 was an interest of my, but I never got a group to try it. I always felt that game art gave SR a great deal of its attraction.

Shadowrun: How can they properly use Native Americans?

To each his own. To me, jamming cyberpunk and D&D together is silly & unnecessary.

Shadowrun: How can they properly use Native Americans?

True. Also, I disliked the 'kitchen sink' approach. Cyberpunk plus magic plus fantasy creatures plus alt history never jelled for me.

Shadowrun: How can they properly use Native Americans?

Forget the political correctness, fix the rules first.

    During the apocalypse setting

A bit. But big corps have been around since the Roman era, and there's few examples of them contributing to a downfall. Far more examples of them keeping a nation going. But my point was that you need an external event. Governments fall with some regularity, but nations prevail. The Black Death...

    During the apocalypse setting

The Twilight 2000 4e/Road to Armageddon games are built around a slide into WW3 and the aftermath, giving the GM the option of gaming at the days just before the war, the war, or the aftermath. Incredible detailed support. Although you've confused the role of the government with the role of the...

For those who have embraced new systems/games, what was the deciding factor?

Currently, Zweihander, Aces&Eights, and Hackmaster 5e (which has nothing to do D&D 5e).

    Fallout Nexus Announced By Demiplane

I play F76 literally every day, on my PS5. I cant see a tabletop comparing to that experience. Unless they come out with a really good system.

How happy are you with your table/group?

My group missed one session in 2024. Individual players missed the occasional session, but the game played on. I've been gaming since 1979, and my current group, currently about 4.5 years together, is the best I've ever had. Moving purely on-line is a major factor. Drawing on a national pool...
