Are there any Alien Invasion RPGs/Settings

600+ pages but no real setting? Inane terms instead of things like roll # dice? Mind-worms no one believes in? I'm glad I saw it. I am impressed, I have to say.

Are there any Alien Invasion RPGs/Settings

Not a fan of SW. I'm not actually looking for a campaign, just wondering if anyone had produced a game in the genre that wasn't supers or occult. I have zero interest in the supers genre in any form, and I'm familiar with the occult invasions. Although other than CoC, that aspect has not...

But unlike Rifts, it might be enjoyable.

Are there any Alien Invasion RPGs/Settings

Exactly. Alien invasion is not an uncommon Hollywoof genre or video game, but it is very under-served as TTRPGs.

Are there any Alien Invasion RPGs/Settings

I often suspect that GURPs is a form of alien invasion.

Are there any Alien Invasion RPGs/Settings

By alien invasion I mean straight-up 'War of the World', 'V', Battle for LA' types, not occult-style such as CoC or Tribe 8, or supers. Seems an under-populated genre.

    NPC Deception/Persuasion and player agency

I run a long-term group, and I dont use D&D. How I handle this sort of thing is to make a hidden roll against the villain's social skill to determine how well he 'read' the PCs. If he's successful, I target the player, not the PC. After years together, I know the buttons to push. Watch the...

It's Time To Vote For 2025's Most Anticipated TTRPGs!

Looking over (and Googling) the list left me cold. A lot of the same, really, plus the usual assortment of second editions. I would have voted for the Pirate Borg setting, but I guess it doesn't count as a new release anymore.

    Avoiding campaign sameness

Change settings, and in each setting, tailor the group premise for existence to the setting. For example, the last five campaigns my group has been together (4 years real time): 1) Fantasy 2) Occult-hunting while serving as a detachment for the Chief of Scouts (intelligence officer) for the...

Positivity: What I'm doing to combat sexism in TTRPGs

We have been sexism-free at my table for years. Although we have no female players, either. Its a lot easier to combat sexism in those circumstances.

How to Tell a Player, "No"?

Sounds like a personal problem for the player.

How to Tell a Player, "No"?

I say 'No'. I usually follow it up with why, but that is just a courtesy.

    Arms companies in gaming

Which is a system failure, IMO. But using a d20 system, there's really not many variables you can plug in. But in systems using a count-up system and weapon range issues, you can really start to make player choices mean something. No one load-out will be viable.
